Copelandia cyanescens = Panaeolus cyanescens

Depends on where you are. Apparently ouside of the US people call them Pan cyans.

Thanks for the replies fellas.  No man, im not from jamaica, just went down to clear my head, and lay on the beach.  Ill be going back in December sometime to search for Ps. mammillata.

All these pans were found at sea level, inland just about a mile or so.  One of the things that struck me as interesting is that nearly all the decent sized fruits we found were in the shade.  They didnt grow in full sun.  After seeing the innumerable fabulous pics of MJ's, we searched in the abandoned cane fields, but til we got to the tree rows we found nothing.  Of course all the Pans were found on dung.

I have been reading and rereading Staments comments on the Ps. mammillata, and I dont think is grows in the same low land areas as the Pans.  It is described as preferring clay soil, humus, and woody debris.  Coffee plantations are also mentioned, and these are found only in and around the blue mountains on the east side of the island.

If any of you fellas have a pic of the Ps. Mammilata, please throw it up so ill have something to go by.  Although I grew cub and pans for years, when it comes to foraying im a complete noob....
