Oh man, True Hallucinations by Terence McKenna is AMAZING! If you like shrooms or you like to read true stories that'll blow your mind or better yet, you like both, this is the book for you! It's a must read! My $.02

Godel Escher Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
by Douglas HofstadterIntertwining discussions on music, art, and number theory, touching on Zen, beauty, and Artificial Intellegence. One of the best books ever. Be warned though, it's a heavy read, requires a lot of thought, and a little math.

If you're not prone to bad trips, some great reading is anything by Phillip K. Dick or H.P. Lovecraft. DON'T read Lovecraft if you tend to see scary beasties, though...

try "one flew over the cukoos nest" by Ken Kesey. the whole book is about how people in a psych-ward unknowingly take LSD with their meds and doctors check the results. there is some really great imagery in it.
Kesey was just way into LSD.. he tripped constantly, and wrote letters back and forth to tom wolfe (Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test) all about it.
