I am a bit confused about the spore color, i know its supposed to be light pink but the prints appeared white on the ground and leaves around the fruits, but light pink when i printed them on white paper at home.
Heres a pic of the spores on the ground...
more blewits
Final haul

The pic of the spores-on-the-leaves seems a bit pinkish too. I think it has to do with the surroundings; autumn leaves have pretty saturated colors, making a faint print seem mostly white. Printed on white paper, the contrast with real white becomes apparent and the print looks pink.
Nice blewits, I ought to hunt for some of those too. They seem to be pretty common around here as well. Although temperatures have probably dropped too far by now for blewits.

Around the same, although daytime temps are not much higher. Perhaps I should go out and look one of these days. Thursday maybe.

that is normal , is just matter of contrast , is more easy to see the PALE LAVENDER/PINKIsh color against a white paper that a leave or a oscure surface , also you will notice in all spore print they can change color depending on how saturated is of spores , the more , the more the other color will be, so if you make a spore print will more thick that a natural spore print , that why always 2 or 3 colors are use sometimes in the description of the spores because usually the color can vary depending on the thicknes of the spore print.
make spore print in a cardboard and will be more whitish make a spore print in a white paper and will be more pinkish
nice finds , for me or the lepista i find in my area ,is hard to describe the taste , but for sure notthing close to jacksonnii , for my this mushrooms smell and taste as if i have use beer in the cooking , hard to explaing to me, http://www.brmushrooms.com/blewit.html

No.
Not unless you like to air dry mushrooms by hanging them in your van and driving down the highway because you don't have a fan at your campsite.

Great finds! I checked my blewit patches today, only a few large ones, mostly small ones that were hard to avoid as they were everywhere! I hope your dried mushies turn out well Senor.

I dried kilos of them this season. I made some mushroom/onion gravy with some of them. Sooo goood. rich and intense flavor. From fresh, the cooked flavor doesn't always sit well with me. Especially with the more mature picks. By mature I mean, when they lose the frozen orange juice scent. And when the purple color goes a bit tan/brown If they sit around for too long indoors, that smell turns pungent and ammonia-like. I like to cook them for a long time to allow the flavor to disperse a bit and not be so concentrated.
In the UK, we have airing cupboards that are very dry and warm. Sliced, and after a couple days in there and they are cracker dry.
So anyway, I think they taste great dried.
I tried to do them in the oven, but I found that rushing them with too high a temperature begins to slow cook them. The moisture ends up getting forced out and drips. Also, my oven doesn't go low enough temp to properly dry them(up to a full day).
Would you really freeze fresh mushrooms? Wouldn't they go to mush?

Ah, I see. cool.
I really must remember that different species can undergo diff types of treatment. Does that help them gain any flavor? Cause i thinks thems is kinda bland.
Have u frozen others without problems? I imagine chicken of the woods would freeze just fine too.
Anyway, nice Blewits!

oysters dont liquefy like some mushrooms do when you freeze and thaw them, neither do blewits...just tested that out.
I love the taste of oysters, ive never tasted a bland one.

Yes, they store and taste great dried up.
The spores appear to have germinated on the log and have turned white due to that.
