I can't wait...Be gentle... Don't eat those shrooms on the lawn, seriously, you have to absolutely know for certain they won't kill you, you must study and buy books and read a lot, which although I have done, I would still be very wary about eating any shroom I find, really, stick with the acid and E untill somebody comes along you trust with the real thing... There are some people out there who are about to be very mean to you for posting such a question, but they have your best interest at heart and don't want to see some one get hurt, so take it as tough love and thank me for stealing a little of their thunder. Sometimes it's a crime to be inexperienced in these parts, but we were all clueless once, now, weren't we? But I'm willing to wager you are just pulling a prank and pushing some buttons, in that case, sorry to be all serious and mess up a good time.

Mushrooms growing on your "neighbors lawn" is nothing close to enough information to make a positive ID. Picking mushrooms in the wild, unless you are experienced and know what to look for AND what not to look for, you probably shouldn't consider. First of all, I don't know where you live, or what time of year, if you do have psilocybes growing in your area, they are in season, or which species grows where you live if any. You'd be better off growing your own if you live in an area which the spores are legal to buy. Don't go eating LBM's you find on your neighbor's lawn![This message has been edited by fbetsy (edited July 09, 2000).]

Thank you both for your response, and yes beatrice, im being serious, although im not that stupid or ignorant as to just go pick them and eat them. I know that reading my question is kind of funny, i mean its even funny to me but im just really curious. TO Betsy, how do I grow them? And where can I find books? P.S. I live in Tpa. Click the Grow Find Words on the bar at the left hand side of the screen and read the pf tek and the magic mushrooms growers guide and sorry I thought somebody was trying to bait the ragers who think they know it all, and like to ridicule people who don't. If you finally buy spores I'd go for PF's syringes if you are in the USA or go with the Sporechicks or 3M mushrooms have excellent reputations. Also there is a search button to help you find answers to common questions until you know a basic background. The best book ever written on Mushroom Cultivation is Stamet's The Mushroom Cultivater which you can find in the gardening section of major book stores or at Amazon.com. Make sure you don't send the spores to the address in which you grow, though spores are legal in all states except CA and GA. And follow the PF tek to the letter except use perlite for humidification. This might mean little to you now but soon these are questions you will be asking. As far as finding I have yet to find a suitable online guide to find them and ID them with pictures, but Stamets has a wonderful book on that subject as well. Good luck in your endevours.

If you have any questions about the growing, check out the posts in the growing forums here and at spiritplants forums (spiritplants.yack.org). If you don't understand certain aspects of cultivation, send me a private message and I'd be happy to help you out. I know, in light of doing tons and tons of reading on the subject, I still wasn't sure what purpose certain things served/why they served that purpose. Maybe I'm just slow .... Oh well, good luck.
