Don Jaun's "Little Smoke"

I just finished reading The Teachings of Don Jaun. THis is a question about what the Little Smoke might have been. It mentions that one of the ingrediants in the mixture was some sort of mushroom. I have tried smoking Cubie's before and defenitly got some effects but nothing like what Carlos experiances. I was wondering if it might have been Psilocybe baeocystis or maybe an amanita. Does anyone have any input on this?

oh no...if you really want to start this arguement all over again, go for it...but there are some people in here who are going to call you all sorts of things and tell you how your body works if you tell them you get affected by smoking mushrooms. but good luck. :grin:

You see Don Juan was not a real person, the book is a work of fiction therefore it could say he smoked dog shit if it wanted to. The fact is Carlos Castaneda didnt have much knowledge about the sacred mushroom and therefore assumed they were smoked. After he was corrected on this, in later books he never mentions they are smoked again.

The "mushrooms" is more likely salvia divinorum? Isnt it from that region?

It could also bd that CC just wanted to look cool :cool:

Hahaha! This had me laughing out loud.

However, I remember Carlos saying in his book that after the smoking mixture was ignited, the mushroom powder was sucked through the pipe and swallowed; it was the other plants that were smoked.
And I also initially thought that one of the main ingredients in the smoking mixture was salvia divinorum.
They mention gathering power plants from Oaxaca, Mexico in later books, and that is most certianly the region that salvia divinorum is native to.
