your personal Philosophy
    #942487 - 10/08/02 12:14 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

blunt ... short and sweet ... to the point, what is your personal Philosophy.

whats is your  mantra

well heres mine:

everyone is a prisoner of thier own expieriences. no one can elimianate prejudices ... just recognize them (FDR) afterall we learn from our mistakes and being nieve about everything will give you a lifetime of lessons that should have already been learned. Keeping that in mind, remember to have a open mind and just take care of the situation with wisdom. how can we forget the golden rule ... if you dont want people kicking up your dirt (preaching, negative judgement, etc) dont kick thier dirt up ... if you do go around kicking dirt dont be surpirized finding yourself in a dust cloud.

peace is

I would be here for a long while typing. I would someday like to write a book on everything that goes on in my head. It would be fun.

yeah, Mr. Mushrooms means question authority, question, dont rebel, but seek ways to better society and yourself. Like for example, lets say this web site is the mushroom authority, and we are all here "questioning" the authority via forums and ingesting the shrooms.

In one sentence...

The existence of ordered design in our universe may imply an intelligent designer, but the existence of disorder and chaos suggest that she has a sense of humor.

Or at least that's how I feel today...

I have a goal of continuous improvement, intellectually, behaviorally, morally. Towards that goal I employ curiosity, reason, doubt, humor and a positive attitude. If you are not advancing, you are retreating. If life is anything, it is a testing ground for the human spirit, a school of infinite diversity in infinite combinations (a little Star Trek thrown in there).

Every day of existence holds more mystery than you could fathom in a lifetime. There is joy in discovery.

Beauty is everywhere, you just have to know to look (not where to look, just look).

To live is the reason for living.

I avoid thinking of my current model of the universe as a set of beliefs, rather I have currently held assumptions with implicit probabilities of certitude. Nothing is 100% certain, these assumptions are open to reassessment at anytime should new evidence present itself. It is our limited view and ignorance of the universe which gives rise to the illusion of contradiction. If something currently held to be highly improbable occurs and it conflicts with the so called 'laws of nature,' it is not supernatural or a miracle, rather, the current model of the universe is inaccurate and needs to be re-adjusted.

Reason is second only to the senses in developing an understanding of the universe, but without experience and information brought in by the senses it is as useless as a windmill in a vacuum.

To neglect or refuse to learn from the mistakes and experiences of others is foolish (and in some instances, fatal)

Failure means neglecting to learn from your mistakes and setbacks. If you make a mistake or have a setback and you learn from it, you have not failed you have learned what not to do.

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

its so cliche and yet so true,
you can do anything you set your mind to. You are your own limit. Never stop dreaming, but know that dreams can come true and work for them. Never lose the kid in you, or he will run amuck in your head!!

"let go"

I am in a mixed state of ideas....My Philosophy is to be at peace with everyone, be trustful to your friends and family, be Loyal to your friends and Family, Respect the elders for some are extremely wise, Respect ones self spirt and self image and try not to hurt innocent people. hard to live by but would be great if i had no flaws and lived perfect like that.

peace out everyone, for everyone has a bit of insanity in them

My philosophies are mostly feelings, and that makes them very hard to put them into words.

Ask questions. Be curious. You will be rewarded.

Don't be afraid to talk to yourself at times, because the best teacher you can have is yourself. You know more than you could possibly imagine, so dig in deep and let it all out.

Don't be a specator to the things around you. Be an actor. Get involved, meet as much people as you can, hear as many different opinions as you can take, be with those that you love when you can, and spread happiness around you.

Be successful. Impress others not by showing them the size of your muscles; impress them by showing them what you can do with your brain. Be successful; be interesting. And don't forget to have fun while it all lasts.
