Blusher?
    #942420 - 10/08/02 09:42 AM (22 years, 8 months ago)

:smile:Hi peeps, any idea what this is, I think it maybe a "The Blusher" Amanita rubescens due to slight red tinge at the base of the stem.  It has a white spore print and it was found in a wood. growing on grass.  Found in UK.

Thanks

I think you're right, those look like Amanita rubescens. You should verify that, when cut in half, the inside stains slowly reddish. All of my books list it as being edible, but Arora also mentions that it doesn't taste very good, so I wouldn't bother.

Excellent photos.
