Old Horse Poo with unknown mycelium usable if sterilized?
    #9422472 - 12/13/08 02:19 AM (15 years, 2 months ago)

I have some old horse poo outside and I was going to collect some and bring it in to use but when I was looking at it it had some unknown mycelium growing on it. I was wondering if I were to sterilize it would my mycelium take it over and make the unknown and dead mycelium disappear? or should I just get some more horse poo? kinda wanted to use the old stuff I have instead of having to go out and collect some more but if I need to get some new stuff i will. Thanks for your help.

I know people say to pasturize the poo but I've had some problem with mold doing it that way and was going to try sterilizing it instead.

It may not be mycelium. It could be firefang, which is good. If mold was a problem with pasteurizing, something else went wrong. Sterilization would leave the manure MORE susceptible to contaminants than pastuerization. Also, I hope you intend to spawn some kind of grain to the manure and not just inject it with an LC. gotta ask
