I'll wait to see if anything really comes from any of this... but I won't hold my breath.
Who knows, maybe it will be the dawn of a new age where people can inform the government what they want through the intertubes.

"13 states have compassionate use programs for medial Marijuana, yet the federal gov't continues to prosecute sick and dying people. Isn't it time for the federal gov't to step out of the way and let doctors and families decide what is appropriate?"

We can always hope for the best, as long as we are doing what we can to make the issue known to the President Elect.
Personally, I would jump for joy all week long if he does end prohibition.
I think full legalization with regulation would be the most prudent approach, ending the expensive and ineffective attack on non-violent people and medical users alike. Though even if all we can get is federal regulation allowing medical use, even that would be a huge victory.
if full legalization occurred then marijuana would have to be removed from the NIDA-5 screening or not? Bus drivers and other people with safety sensitive jobs would no longer be tested for marijuana? these are some of the questions I have. Alcohol intoxication is easy to detect with breathalyzer equipment but how do you detect acute marijuana intoxication? How will we know if people operating heavy machinery are high or not?
I of all people know that it is possible to do an excellent job at anything while under the influence of pot but only after an extensive period of acquaintance with the herb. Those who are not accustomed to the intoxication of quality MJ would not always be able to effectively function in a safety sensitive role.
So that is a huge part of what will make full legalization of marijuana more easy, the development of a simple process to measure a person's intoxication akin to the breathalyzer. Such a tool will make legal marijuana regulation a reality.

yes- and the most frequently posed questions were related to the issue of marijuana as far as I could see. of the 200 odd questions about 40 were marijuana or "war on drugs" related.
