what size holes are you using? if there 1/4 inch, some perlite will fall thru when you put it in the tub after that it will stay there, unless you shake nad move it around 4-5 inches of perlite is good

3/8"...my FC is in the back of a speaker with a pc fan im gonna put on a timer...so its a really small FC...IDK if 4-5" of perlite is gonna leave me a lot of room for the cakes and shrooms haha...
but im thinking only a few holes cuz its so small and the fans gonna move a lot of air cuz its a tight fit

Perlite wont fall through as bad as you think. Most of the pieces are going to be too large for a 3/8 hole. Make sure you drill holes on all six sides. How many cakes are you doing? That FC seems pretty small. You will probably be able to get away with 3 inches of perlite in there. That should give you 5 or 6 inches of upward room for the shrooms to grow.
