being that im an anime-head i would recommend "Princess Mononoke", very beautiful picture with lots of insights and reflection.
"Paprika" is also very good for its hardcore trippines and weird story-line, but really, princess mononoke FTW.

I have to add one more to this list. Everyone should see the movie Heavy Metal once in their lives. Even if you aren't high or on shrooms. It's got some pretty far out there shit going on.

the new "Casper" the friendly gohst is a trip when your sober. The color scheme is just right and it was done in HD. I've seen many of the other suggestions above. Casper has my vote.
I know this is an old thread. I just had to add my 2 cents.
