all-natural ADHD treatment?

So there's a good chance that I've had ADHD my whole life - I always struggled in school, and most of my teachers noticed it was because of an apparent inability to stay focused or to pay attention to most things. They suggested to my parents that I get checked up for it, but they weren't big on the idea.
Now I'm 22 and I still struggle with my attention span, can't really focus on shit. I tend to overthink myself into a corner, which makes me less efficient at best and often makes me quit a task prematurely, or not even try.
I've also been experimenting with kava, and decided to try mixing the extract in with my coffee. And it actually seems to make the jumbled rush of energy the coffee gives me much more organized. For example, yesterday I cleaned my house to the point of being fucking pristine within a couple hours. Normally this takes me a few hours, or a whole day of inconsistent on-and-off work (IF I finish the job), but under the effects of the kavajava I found my thoughts could relax and space out while my hands were busy with the assigned task as a matter of course. It was almost automatic.
Obviously further experimentation is required, but it might give me an easy out from my ADHD without me having to see a doctor or a therapist, or take psychopharmaceuticals, things I really don't feel like doing. Has anybody else had a similar experience, or are there any other kava fans in the pub?

Kava does give me a nice clear headed feeling. Have you read about that scaly skin problem you can get from taking to much of it? I hope this wouldn't be a problem for you.

Yeh, I read about that. I probably wouldn't be using kava daily as I don't ALWAYS need a laser focus for what I want to do, and of course I'll always want to get drunk occasionally - a single beer gives me a splitting headache if I've been on kava that day.

when i was in high school and soon after that i would take natural remidies for my ADHD, i have it really bad.
go to a nice herb shop and talk with the people there, i was taking a bunch of EFA's, valerian, st. johns wart, kava kava...it works though made me feel great.
there are these mixtures of herb for ADHD and they work great but are expensive, 50$-65$ for 60 pills.

your post was tl;dr
I have had great success self-medicating with ginseng. It doesn't give me the flying shits like caffeine does, and is a very clean focus. It works at least as well as any med I've been on.
I usually mix it with 5htp.
The combination is totally clear, focused, and ready to rock.

Even within the psychiatric community there is disagreement about Adult ADHD.
Its thought the majority of children "outgrow" it. It may be the fact that you're normal, and stimulants (e.g. coffee) just make you more attentive than normal.
Since you don't want conventional treatment, keep on the kava.

Recent studies have shown that taking a 15 minuet walk in the woods is more effective than any medication.

I believe this... I can't imagine xanax could provide better relief from anxiety than that.

I'd love to see a study comparing a walk in the park with pharmacological treatment.
