Cobweb in mycobag
    #9398703 - 12/09/08 11:14 AM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Hey guys. A foaf has some cobweb proliferating in a mycobag. I have seen RR mention that 3% peroxide melts cobweb on contact,

A couple of quick q's for the pro's:

Best delivery of peroxide in a mycobag substrate? Spray bottle? Then dab dry with a paper towel?

Will the peroxide harm the mycelium / mushie growth at all?

Thanks fellas.

Cobweb is pretty easy to mis-id, you want to be 100% sure that's what it is before you do anything radical.

Maybe your foaf can cough up some good close-up macro shots (with good lightning) for us to look at before you go crazy on your bag.

and also just cause you can kill the cobweb doesn't mean you saved your bag. most likely it will be a and extremely shitty harvest if its gets that far.

It's already produced some decent fruits, and has about a dozen more coming up.

One of the mushies has some fuzzy white stuff on it, and it looks like part of the sub has some white fuzz going on it as well. Unfortunately, no access to a cam. :frown:

Cobweb looks like 'grey whispy troll hair' and it grows like wild fire.

Okay, will dab it with a q-tip. The one mushie has it on the upper half of its stem, with the lower half looking like a normal, hard stem.

It definitely doesn't look like the mycelium in the rest of the bag, but who knows. Wish I had a cam damn it.

i should have said "drip" a drop of H202 from a qtip...dont touch it or it will damage it and u wont know if its myc or cobweb. If it disintegrates from H202 then its not myc, look real close, hard to tell sometimes.

If it's already fruiting that means it's 100% colonized and it's hard for cobweb to take over a 100% colonized substrate.. May be something else..
