The "Office" of the "President-Elect"

Is anybody else bothered by this?
I mean, strictly speaking, the Electoral College doesn't meet until Dec 15 to officially elect a President. The whole thing is based on the ASSUMPTION that the electors will vote for , which, barring action from the Supreme Court, they will. Sure, he won the election on Nov 4. But that is NOT the election that really matters. Is this a further coronation of the Messiah by the MSM?
I must admit, I'm not sure if the trend has been so in previous years (ie was Bush called Pres-Elect b4 the electoral college met? Was there an "Office of the President-Elect"?) Sure, some might argue that the situation we face currently calls for immediate action and can't wait until Jan 20. Sorry, but that's why Bush is still in office, like it or not. Obama seems to already be influencing policy even though he hasn't been elected! Nobody even knows if he's Constitutionally eligible to hold the fucking position! I don't really want to get into that debate though.
Further, what about Hillary's appointment to Sec of State? SHE IS CONSTITUTIONALLY INELIGIBLE UNTIL 2013!!
Article I, Section 6:
Quote:
No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time: and no person holding any office under the United States, shall be a member of either House during his continuance in office.
Since the Senate raised the compensation of Cabinet positions, she's disallowed!
Does anybody care about that god damned piece of paper anymore?

Hillary is allowed to be the SOS, but if she is, she will not have the salary increase.

do you really believe the president-elect transition teams of previous administrations waited until december 15th to begin forming staff and developing policy? Because you'd be quite wrong.

technically, no she's not allowed.
the so-called saxbe fix is not constitutional! if we can avoid Art I, Sec 6, why not Art II, Sec 1? it's a slippery slope, ignoring that god damned piece of paper. lets just throw the whole fuckin thing out the window, and adopt a UN constitution so we can all be globally pacified citizens
i don't even know why i pretend that politicians follow it anymore... and how can we expect the constituencies to hold them to it?

From what I understand Mushman is right.
Legally she can accept the post, but cannot have the salary increase.
zappa posted the details a few days ago.

Okay, apparently we are talking about two completely different things. I thought you were implying he was spending tax money to promote himself and his policies before he is even sworn in. Which, obviously, would be impossible as has no power to control the governments purse-strings.
But I see you were just saying that he was spending his own money to do this.
So in that case, who gives a flying fuck? If I want to take out an ad in the paper saying that Madtowntripper is the hottest shit ever and people everywhere should bow down before me, why should you care? And again, I've yet to see any proof that he's doing this.
