You should probably check out the Amorphous Androgynous. It's the same people as FSOL, but it has a blend of sounds in it. The album is called, "The Peppermint Tree and the Seeds of Superconsciousness." Plus they have a new mix CD out called "Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble" that mixes psychedelic music from the late 60s to today. (I haven't heard that one yet, but I like the Peppermint Tree album and I assume their DJing will knock my socks off.)
Then, my favorite 13th Floor Elevators album... Easter Everywhere (1967)... too many people sleep on them, but they were awesome.

Ott (Bluemenkraft), Ishq (Orchid), The Egg, most Younger Brother (A Flock of Bleeps & The Last Days of Gravity) save for maybe 2 songs with a psytrance influence, etc. Each of those artists are very highly recognized in the psytrance scene but under those names contribute chilled out psychedelic.. whatever it is. It's definitely psychedelic, if that's what you're looking for

on topic:
since you haven't mentioned which genre
psy rock: ozric tentacles post rock: Explosions in the Sky deep house: evan marc (bluetech) and steve hillage (his solo projects are amazing and it's recommended above) - Dreamtime Submersible african tribal: highlight tribe trip hop: archive psy breaks: artifakt jazzy electronic: hi-fi companion and space funghi project electronic/rock the egg - hoopy frood - elemental journey IDM: kettel - secede doom metal / avante garde metal in the woods... - green carnation
but if you are looking for truly psychedelic music your safest bet is to look for psy-ambient. i have way too many artists to recommend here (which i have already done in this thread). you can start with ULTIMAE RECORDS =)

reggae you say? think of checking out Groundation, Midnite, and 10 Foot Ganja Plant. 10FGP have a solid reggae influence along with jazz and lounge, and have (IIRC) more songs that are instrumentals than not.
Goundation - Dub Wars Midnite - Ras Mek Peace 10 Ft. Ganja Plant - Bass Chalice

Don Peyote - Peyote Dreaming not raggae but: The album offers 11 tracks of eclectic, world-influenced, visionary down tempo fat dub and bass. Featuring flutes and sax by Dan Richardson and didjeridoo by Australian maestro Ganga Giri.

Damn guys AWESOME job. I'm so excited to have this much music to get into! Its been a busy day so I haven't driven too deep, but I will say that Cinematic Orchestra and Celtic Cross impressed me greatly. Those are the only two I have listened too, but no doubt I will get to all of these. Thanks again guys.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between root reggae and dub reggae?

Rocker232: Well The dub reggae is very similar or it could be version of original songs, example roots reggae songs. But dub have usually very heavy echo and bass on it, and sometimes dub lack the vocals. I think Lee Perry and King Tubby are good examples what dub reggae could be when it is good.
