Setup QUestion (FANS)

I've seen people using computer fans to exchange air in ter. setups. Anyways, anyone know how to wire a computer fan that has 3 wires (red, black, white) to a plug so i can run it on a timer? thnx in advance :smile:

to the best of my knowledge, computer fans are 12 volt, a wall socket is 120 volt. Bet to harvest and old computer power suppluy, plug the fan into that and the power suppluy into the wall. Otherwise you'll need some other form of power converter.

One of the wires is for wierd diagnostic stuff. only use the red and black one...

you could set up some kind of ciruit with 2-3 A batteries... i dont know how long they could constantly supply a fan with electricity tho..

I'm trying to get it so I can run it on a timer... O well, i'm going to setup my stuff and make sure i can keep the humidification :smile:

You could of course use a power supply too, and hook that up to a timer... it would work, but power supplies scare me to no end, as i got really injured one time because of one of those evil bastards.
