Sup guys,
I couldnt find a solid answer searching posts;
How do you tell when your LC is contaminated? I made one out of half pint with honey.
I have a massive myc cloud but there are bits that are kinda brownish clumps. They've been there for a while but the myc continues to grow.
Does contaminated LC keep growing?

You can't always tell if an LC is contaminated until you use it. Sometimes if it's got a serious bacterial problem it will look like barf so that's obvious but otherwise it can be hard to spot.
If it looks like anything but they way it did when it came out of the PC except with snowy mycelium you should test it on one jar before knocking up anymore.

There is really no way to tell if your LC is contaminated.. You must use it on a test jar first and see what happens..

Sounds like caramilised suger, which is a problem with honey LC's. Try using malt dextrose.
Also you can use much less honey than 4%. 1% works just as well. I have used 4% with good results though i have heard of mycelum going into diabetic shock once used in a substrate. IDK though.
I had a few LC's that had a nice cloud of mycelium but with brown in it, Was just carimilised honey.
Test it out on 1 jar of substrate to be sure though. You wont know what you have until you test it.
