First hunt-- looks doubtful.
    #935781 - 10/06/02 02:05 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Hey everyone I am an ex-lurker.. I feel like I've gathered a wealth of information from all of you.

SO-- today I went on my first legit hunt with a good friend. Right when we stepped out the door we found a little shroom. Mostly a white/slight tan color, with a hint of tan on the cap. After the day was over we had found more than 20 of these little bastards. Im hunting in northeast mississippi, so naturally I was expecting cubies. Especially after these damn whore hurricaines and whatnot.

After checking my shroomery recources I concluded I for SURE didnt find a cubie. They appeared similar to Copes, but they arent blueing at all! I dont understand. They were all growing directly from cow poo poo. I am taking a spore print as we speak, and that will help I guess.

Also, prior to hitting the fields we checked my friends horse paties, and I found waht appeared to be a lone Pan Subb. I am waiting for the spore print before I make a false assumption.

**Could someone please tell me what color the print should be (if its a subb)?

Thanks!
Here's some pics of my finds.
Try not to be envious of the clarity and color correctness of my 84 dollar webcam!!!

(trey is the mack daddy)

(dont even bother clicking on this one, blurry as FUCK)

(kinda blurry still, notice brown gills.. btw the caps were a LITTLE sticky, barely)

And here is the motherload. Not a lot. I didn't include any pics of the pan subb-- these are all the hopeful psilocybes.

Anyone have a clue? Im sorry about image quality.

They look like they could be Subbs that have had some exposure to the sun.
They're definitely Panaeolus of some sort. Could be Pan antillarium(not active)... Either way the print will come out jet black if they are in the Panaeolus genus.

The spore prints were jet black. God damn it. I think they are antillarium, based on the other pics that I searched for (on antillarium).

FUCKASS that sucks.

**could they still be subbs maybe? remember, cow dung, northeast MS
