Fallout 3

So I was playing yesterday/last night for a looooooong time. 6 hours long time (god damn it can suck you in.) Right before I stopped I started killing a bunch of people in the town I was in, then quit.
Bad move. Wake up this morning and go to play, load up the last autosave, and all these fucking guys are shooting me. So I go through a door to some room that also autosaves. There's a guy in the room shooting me. I can kill him, but then two other guards come through the door. I have one bar of health left, absolutely nothing on me to heal myself, and not enough time to run and find anything before they kill me.
Worst part is I didn't save once when I was playing yesterday. So if I start over I'll be 6+ hours behind where I was. I'm probably done playing Fallout.

As a long time video game player, I've learned something important... SAVE often and SAVE at least 5 different saves, overwriting the oldest one starting with the sixth.
Fallout almost fucked me over too, but I had a save from only about 10 minutes back.
And, not to be a dick... but "Right before I stopped I started killing a bunch of people in the town I was in" is a good way to fuck up your game.

I DID IT!
I had to kill one guard that was in the room, run and jump down to the next level, steal a bunch of fruit that was on the table. That gave me barely just enough health to kill the next two guys.
It still took me like half an hour from there because there were all sorts of people I couldn't actually kill, and I couldn't remember how to get out. So I had to run around killing people, stealing food and stimpacks, kill more people, so on and so forth.
Rooster: I don't remember why I didn't have anything on me, I ALWAYS have a fuck ton of stimpacks. And I always fuck around and kill people, I also usually save before I do it in case it goes bad. I must have forget. Now I don't even do it to fuck around, I just kill everyone and take their shit instead of buying it. I also make sure I can get the fuck out in case they're one of those characters that can't die.

When games are too difficult it sucks the fun out of them, but if you persist it feels good making it through. Im playin through COD4 on the hardest difficulty trying to get achievements (360). Its really just a pain in the ass.

Cheaters.
Lazy, useless cunts always looking for the easy way out. My 12 year old nephew finally realized why cheating was stupid and stopped... I guess some people never outgrow immature childish behavior.

Don't you feel good now?!
The problem with cheaters is they never realize they are cheating themselves out of the fun of victory... the thrill of conquering something... the happiness that comes with success.
Cheaters are just worthless cunts, never knowing what it's like to be a REAL winner.

Yes, because talking shit on people who take advantage of programming or design errors to artificially pump their K/D ratio is moronic.
And, like you say... its a fucking video game. So why belittle yourself by cheating at something so insignificant?
And who the fuck are you again, and why would I give a flying shit about how you feel?

Videogames are usually played for fun. If someone finds cheating fun, they will do it. So what? It's hardly belittling.

I guess this is the attitude.
I'm part of a dying breed I suppose, where cheating gets you seriously hurt. I'd love to see them try to rig a deck at one of my poker games, in real life.
And yes, video games are for fun. The problem is cheaters RUIN my fun, and the fun of everyone else who plays with... um, the stuff you guys lack... oh yeah, skill.
I love how people defend cheating of ay kind. It really speaks volumes!

I never played Fallout 3 yet but if there is anything I learned from the 2 prequels, save often. I usually save at least once every 5 minutes. Not to mention saving before attempting to steal or lock pick so that I can ensure I get it.

If you cheat on a single player game, you'll cheat on a multiplayer game. A cheater is a cheater, and I'm not sure how so many of you fail to see that.

When I beat a game in singleplayer, I put on cheats after to do things I couldn't normally do for more fun.. I don't ever cheat in multiplayer though.

This is different... It's not technically "cheating" if you already finished the game.
And how is it illogical?
Human behavior shows that people who lie, cheat or steal will do so in many situations. It's a base character flaw that will continue to show itself in most areas of your life.
Those funky tests you have to take before getting certain jobs are designed to catch these traits in people... without directly asking "will you steal from me?" to which anyone would say no.
Like I said... cheaters are cheaters. Liars are liars and thieves are thieves.
Not directly applicable, but a good quote...
"Everything that I accepted as being true up to now I acquired from the senses or through the senses. However, I have occasionally found that they deceive me, and it is prudent never to trust those who have deceived us, even if only once."
I'm fucking high.

Different rules apply to multiplayer and single player games. To say that someone will definitely cheat in multiplayer given that they cheat in single player is erroneous.
The reason players shouldn't cheat in multiplayer is that it distorts the level playing field and gives cheaters certain advantages beyond having superior skills. As a result, it is unfair to cheat in multiplayer games.
Obviously, fairness does not apply to single player games. How can you be unfair to an artificial intelligence? If you want to dick around with unlimited ammo and all weapon unlocks, I don't give a fuck. It has no affect on my game. Just don't come into a multiplayer game with a wallhack or w/e and ruin the game for others.
To say that SP cheating is the same as MP cheating is just not logical.

Has anyone beat this yet?
The ending sucks soooo bad, mainly because of the fact that you cant continue fucking playing the game. You have to actually run out of the building and not finish the final mission to continue playing. So lame. This was insanely short too. I remember playing Oblivion for hours upon hours without barely making a dent int he main campaign.
But nonetheless it is a great game in the long run.

Re-play it? I have yet to beat the game but damn is it awesome already know there is gonna be multiple play throughs for me. I mean, for weapons I use Abraham Lincoln's rifle, a mini nuke launcher, and a gun that shoots anything I put into it including exploding teddy bears and beer bottles. Also, I love intemidating people and shit through speech, I've completed like 3 quests just cause I tell the people to fuck off and pay me anyways.

Make sure you have a nice saved game BEFORE moving on the last part of the main quest. It kinda draws you in, and once finished the game ends... You can't go back and finish up anything.
I just finished up Dead Space... nice story, nice graphics and nice suspense throughout. Very linear and mildly repetitive, but a playable title nonetheless.

really? the only thing that takes forever is walking across the stupid fucking map.
the missions are all incredibly easy, i was suprised how easy that game was compared to 1+2.
it definitely isnt anything special to me, i'm pretty much a huge fan of the older two.
was worth a play through though.

There is a difficulty slider... crank it up to Very Hard and let me know how it goes. It's almost a joke... On that level, Giant Radscorpions are almost immortal death machines.

Fallout 3 isn't as interesting as the first and definitely not as funny as the second, but its still fun.

lol, moronical,to be moronic. I'm with you, why cheat when you can use your intelligence to complete the game. if you lack this skill of using your brain then I guess thats why people cheat.(excluding beating the game,I know once a game is beat it gets kinda boring, thats when you can use some cheats to fun it up.

Just busting yer nuts. Everyone misspells a word now and then... it's just the irony of the word 'intelligence' so badly mangled.

Anyone played any good FO3 mods yet?
I finished the game once already, but didn't do many side quests, so I've got a second game going to experience more of the content...

I'm sure that is the same way I'll play Fallout when the time comes. I've been wrapped up in Oblivion for the last few weeks now. My character is at level 22 and I have only done a few missions that follow the main story line. Sometimes I just wander aimlessly through the wilderness looking for shit to do and picking flowers.

I just borrowed Fallout 3 for xbox 360 from a friend and have been playing it non stop for about two weeks now. I am amazed with the size, detail, and overall quality of this game! I may even like it more than oblivion...
Has anyone else stumbled across the wrecked alien spacecraft and gotten that nasty little blaster pistol? I love just exploring and finding cool things like that.

There's way more that that... haha. I've played 2 characters both well past Max Level, and I STILL discover new shit.
Did you get the Experimental MIRV launcher?

yeah its not really that great my melee character was rendered practically useless in there.
Oh wait, having no skill in small arms is like being an expert marksman anyway thats right.
Theres not a LOT of stuff thats random. i noticed in oblivion there was a lot more random shit.
all the "cool" stuff to discover in fallout is recorded online.
i did run into a guy in the downstairs of a printing press holding off against feral ghouls though. ahahaha 2 automatic guns and a minigun. nothing really special to find.. just some crazy fuck who wants to die.

Haha nope, I sure as hell haven't. Right now I'm working on getting the T31b Prototype armor (something like that) by getting the three keys to some facility. I've got 2, but I can't seem to get to Dukovs place. I know right where it is, it just seems blocked off from everything. I'll keep workin on it. If you've got any other must have 'secret items' let me know.

got the t-51b prototype armor last night, it's pretty badass as far as stats go but it doesnt look too much different than regular brotherhood armor. someone told me it was the armor used in the original fallout game.
What is the Merv launcher and where can I get it?

Mostly useless, but VERY cool. It's a Fat Man Mini Nuke Launcher, but it fires 8 at a time... no less than 8, so it runs through mini nuke ammo quick.
You have to find all 5 Keller family tapes, then go to the National Guard Depot.

that sounds so badass, I'll have to work on getting the tapes now. I also saw some videos with a special weapon called the fire lance or something like that. It's basically a stronger alien blaster that lights your target on fire, causing additional damage. what you know bout that?

Not sure about the firelance... But if you are playing on a 360, there was a video about the MIRV and where all the tapes are. I had 4 randomly found in my 130 hour game and the video helped me find the last one.
It's one of the strategy ones with Jessica Chobot... yummy.
There is also a huge wiki site that feels like cheating, but it's nice for all the background info. I try to limit what I read there!!
