What have YOU done with the tape after innoculation? Left it on or taken it off? Why?

i personally unfold the tape, one hole and a time, quickly inoculate, then put the tape back on. some minor precautions i take are of course sterile environment/needles whatnot, but i try to move it slowly, and keep the sticky side down. also, try not to touch more than a square mm... i guess you could pull the tape off and leave it off, but even with a verm layer, seems like you would be exponentially increasing the risk of contam. i am just a newbie though (a mycological newbie....)

I leave it on for a week or two. Once I get some good growth I take off the tape and loosen the lids.

I've never used tape, instead I just cover the lid with aluminum foil during sterilization. Then after innoculation, I place two coffee filters over the lide and a rubber band to keep them there. Its worked so far.

I used drinking glasses with a triple foil lid, the inner lid has 4 innoculation holes-no contams yet
