Maybe it's just me, but seeing it in form like that really puts it into perspective.

Except that the bailout is composed of loans, and the purchase of securities.

That's what happens when the small guys get ran out by these big fuckers in the first place. They get washed away under a sea of corporation bullshit. Then those same moms and pops end up holding the bill when those companies fall?
Sweet justice.

We killed the strong by sterilizing everything before we put our own out there. That way we have a very good chance of winning.... Also the US is pretty fully colonized.... I'm just saying.

How about instead of stealing tax payer money to give to businesses that in a America should fail due to the basic principles of capitalism, you split up that $4,616,000,000,000 between the 75% of the 305,800,000+/- US Citizens that are 18 and up.
Let's do some basic math
305,800,000 (US Citizens) * 75% (that are 18+) = 229,350,000 US Citizens Aged 18+
$4,616,000,000,000 / 229,350,000 = ~ $20,126.44 per US Citizen Aged 18+
Does anyone know if the bailout is being taxed? Cause if not, we can end the math right there
But for the sake of ideas, let us pretend the government wants to treat us like shit... not a hard stretch. But let's pretend that we get taxed on that ~ $20,126.44
$20,126.44 * 40% tax = ~$12,075.87 after tax to every US Citizen Aged 18+
Personally, I think that getting $12,000 or $20,000 would certainly help me in my day to day life, like groceries, gas, utilities, etc. I might even splurge and put some back into the economy on a TV that I might not have bought, or some shitty ass American car that has built in obsolescence after ~4 years so that US Auto Industry will shut up about people not wanting to buy their shitty products that don't last long enough to warrant buying them.
And even if I decided to just throw the money into a Savings Account or a Bank CD, that would still benefit the banks so that they could make more stupid wise investments.

I'm waiting on them to bail out the big 3 automakers. Me and pretty much everyone else in MI is depending on it. I say give the money straight to the unions not to the CEOs.

A bailout is one of the most unAmerican thing I can think off. If the big 3 automakers made a product that lasted more than 5 years tops, they wouldn't need a bailout. But now they want us to pay for them making an inferior product to the Japanese and German auto makers? Fuck that. They should be making good products if they want money.
In business, if you don't offer a better product than your competition, you don't make money. End of story.
If I started a small restaurant that sold hamburgers and french fries, but they didn't taste good and no one wanted it which forced me to shut down, I can't go to the Government and say "Nobody wants my food because McDonald's is cheaper and better. I demand billions of dollars in compensation."

What's so un American about keeping 1000s of workers employed, with a steady paycheck so they can heat their house and put food on the table. I didn't really want the gov't to bail out wallstreet, but that didn't really effect me. This on the other hand...

They added all that shit together and then everyone ran with the big number for hysterics. It's a common ploy for anyone against anything to misrepresent the facts.
