Need help solving problem with FC

Ok so before I really knew what I was doing I went and built this mammoth thing to use as a FC. I am limited in where I can grow and trying to keep thing on the down low. This is the FC that I built. I will post a few pics.
I am having problems keeping heat in here. It sits in a basement where the ambient temp in winter in closer to 45* than 70* plus. I have tried a small heater in the box which is pretty quiet but after a short while it will trip and shut off. Any ideas for heat source? I would like to take the first jar or so into Fc in next few days. I want to try to keep everything out of sight and quiet.

Ok I'll have to try to read FAQ on how to include pics. I uploaded them to my account but cant figure out how to attach them to post.

Don't heat your fruiting chamber. Heat the area around it with a space heater.
To post pictures, simply copy the ubb code below your picture and paste it into the text box where you type. RR

like rr mentioned. dont heat the fc itself. warm the air around it. if you heat the fc itself, it will dry out the air. then youll have problems trying to combat the dry heat and keeping up humidity. i would worry about warming that basement up first.

Ok here are the pics.
Another.
And one more.
I planed on everything being held with in tubs inside this box.
Here is a pic of a few of the jars almost ready.
I can't do a space heater in this room it is in the basement and my home is circa 1880's so I might as well try heating up the outside as that is where all my heat seems to escape to. Think of this as a mini room with in a bigger room. if that makes any sense. The old freezer where these jars have been growing is about 15 ft from my FC box.

You got trouble. If the basements 45-55 and the inside of the box is 75-80,you don't have enough insulation.Water would condensate on the lid.I think you need to place that in a plastic tent(say 6*6*6).A small heater and humidifier would keep that space buffered. If your going to do many cakes you gotta get rid of the CO2 in the box and have a little FAE.You really need to build an insulated closet and it would solve your problem.

You could play around with heat bombs. I haven't used them myself, but I read that they also provide some humidity, which would probably be useful in that environment.
Another recommendation, the more substrate you put in there, the more heat you'll get.
I'm not sure if raising the box off the ground an inch or two, would provide any benefit.
You light source could also provide some heat.
Well insulated, you could end up with more heat than you need, though the comment on air exchange should be noted. I'd guess that your box provides some ventilation as is.
Adding a plastic liner would keep more heat in, but would restrict FAE.
I think you can make it work, with some experimentation.

It needs plastic on the inside and more insulation on the outside, more so on the top.It needs to sit on an insulated pallet. It needs to be away from that outside wall.

I will have to just keep playing with it. The thing is big think of it like a big foot locker that I planned on putting plastic tubs in. this way the humidity and climate is more controlled. I figure on fanning as my schedule is pretty flexible. The box is not air tight The full measurements of the box are, 48" long 38" wide and 38" high it sits 3" off the floor. I will have to run some tests with heating pad and hot water bottles and see if I can keep the temp up.
