Canning jars...HELP

hey,

I'm going to buy my canning jars so that I can innoculate them later tomorrow. Anyways, I found 250 ml jars except instead of being short and fat, they were more tall and skinny then the ones I see on the internet pics. Is this ok? and how will this effect me colonization?

They should work fine as long as they are tapered and have no shoulder so that the cakes can just slide out. The shape won't affect your colonization times, only the size.

If you're worried you can put them on their sides if you are doing cakes.
