The best way to hide something is in plain sight. Anybody who knows me well enough to know I'm trying to learn to grow mushrooms thinks I'm dealing with edibles (which isn't untrue). I just fail to mention the other stuff I'm growing. None of my stuff is marked with anything obvious. I just mark my jars with a # and have a little notebook showing what each # or series means.
By christmas I'm going to have a couple oyster kits sitting out on the living room table/kitchen. My mom and a couple family members already asked me to locate different exotic(to them) edible species to start for them.
It's also one reason I decided to go with monotubs instead of fruit chambers. Much less obvious in the advent of a family or friend visit. My mom is coming to visit in a few days, and I'm going to be more then happy to show her my mushroom room. Just instead of saying mom, this is a shelf full of jars growing magic mushrooms - these are different strains of oysters/garden giants I'm working on. She'll be all like "wow that's cool!" and then the tour will be over.
Then in a month or two, I'll send her a real oyster kit, and all will be good.

just be careful bud, even best freinds get pissed off
dont show anyone, except for us
to me its a risk just letting my wife know, but theres no hiding it from her
when you hook up your freinds just tell them you know a guy and bought them for cheap

tell no one. come to the shroomery to get your kicks and some real appreciation from your mycopeers. normal people are too fascinated by the whole thing to ever understand the real point and beauty of the process.
anyway. i thought about making mini-xmas grow gifts for friends once. if youre already making BRF cakes, why not just birth the cake into a PMP. so simple and your friends dont have to make a casing or nothing. a 2 liter bottle and a handful of perlite. casing is asking for trouble in COMPLETELY inexperienced hands.
wordemup.
