dunk and roll cakes onto coco coir?
    #9337227 - 11/30/08 01:02 PM (15 years, 4 months ago)

ok this is my first grow, so go easy on me!

as i dont want to break up my cakes, id like to experiment with one of two cakes instead.

has anyone tried dunking and then rolling in pasteurized coco-coir instead of verm?

i know that there are conflicting ideas on whether coco-coir is nutritious or not..but id still like to hear what you people think.

would the mycellium just grow over it, leaving close to nothing of a casing? if so wouldnt it work anyway since if coco coir was nutritious, then that would mean better yield and potency.

and if coco coir wasnt nutritious, then it would serve the same purpose as a layer of verm right?

correct me if im wrong!

cheers guys and girls!

what i do know is that cubies love to rip right through coir. you could try it. i don't see why it wouldn't work.

if i was to do it i would go for a 50/50 mix of coir verm.

but when they get to the fruiting stage there really isn't a need for adding more nutes because they are ready to spread the seed, not prepare to spread the seed.

Actually you asked this question yesterday.  Why would you re-post it??

Your not supposed to double post.  Especially when smart people like Veda already answered your question.  It's not like the answer will change overnight
