Petition to move the "great outdoors" forum

Ok, so we know that the Great Outdoors forum gets shit for traffic. A lot of people don't even know it exists. Probably mostly due to it being a sub-forum of an already low traffic AND specialized forum that has pre-reqs to even be able to see it in the first place (Gathering).
But I've seen a lot of requests for a Wilderness Survival & Outdoors type forum.. which is basically what that forums intended purpose is. There is a desire for this type of forum, but it's so out of the way that no one ever notices it or uses it. Even people that know it's there, don't post in it because hardly anyone ever does and they'd usually rather bring the topic to a forum people actually read, like the pub.
What I'm asking is maybe consider moving and renaming the forum. While I realize you admins probably dread YET ANOTHER forum in the main list, I think that's probably where it would be best served.. if that were the case I could almost guarantee a massive increase in the viewing and postings on that forum. Or perhaps a subforum of a high-traffic area, like the Pub. Although it doesn't really fit with the "theme".
I dunno, what do you guys think. Feel free to move this to WA&F if you think it would be better there.

Interesting, I didn't even know the forum existed. I take lots of hiking and backpacking pictures in the mountains and was just thinking the other day of how there's really nowhere to post them here. RR

It would be great to have a Wilderness Survival & Outdoors forum on the main forum list.

I agree. Subforums just don't get traffic.

i agree that would be a good addition to the list. I check it rarely but it never seems to change much where it is.

I moved the sub-forum to the Pub for now. Hopefully the increased exposure will bring more traffic, and we can revisit the idea of making it its own parent forum in the future.

Do not like.
I don't like having two sub-forums under the same forum because then when you click on the Forum link from the main page to view the threads in that forum, you have a big block of two sub-forums at the top of that page, moving the threads halfway down.
It's no big deal, just kind of annoying.
