i have a 7 cup BRF B+ inoculated cake (yeah, i know, Im dumb and its too big)that i birthed exactly a week ago. its been moved terrarium to terrarium/ house to house and either hasnt had consistent conditions, or one house wasnt good for some reason. i recently put it into one of my better terrariums, and injected sterile water into the cake to rehydrate yesterday. this morning there is abundant growth of fluffy myc around the injection sites i guess... anyway my question is if the whole cake has to be covered with this fluff before it fruits, or would these little patches fruit by themselves?
and is this myc too fluffy? i read too high humidity would only make the myc fluffier and not fruit, which in my terrarium, humidity could be a problem.

Instead of injecting water, you could have given that cake a good soak for 12-24 hrs. in some cool water, kept in a container at room temp. I think that would have been a better idea than injecting.

looks like your getting hyphal knots forming on the top right of the cake.....and they will pin when there ready.give them light FAE and humidity and you should be pinning shortly. how long has this cake been in the FC?...you can also pile up some verm on top and bottom of cake so it helps hold in moisture like 1 inch on top and bottom of moist verm and it should help more just keep misting! mist till u see the verm get shiny from water

You should think about putting a computer fan on your fc (if its a shotgun style) Put the computer fan on a timer. I got a Brinks timer that I have set to a full minute every 2 hours to turn on.
It has been working fantastic for me.

If you have a flea market near you, check them out... I learned to LOVE flea markets since I got into this hobby... There is a guy there that has old computer fans he sells... I get like 10 of them for 5$. Although, I've yet to have one burn out on me like people said happens. I've been running this one now for over 2 months and its going strong.
Here is a post of mine I did a while back when I decided to install it.. >> http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/9096783#9096783

Nuzzle, I just rigged up a computer fan to a mono-tub as well http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/9307618/an/0/page/0
Did yours work well for you? If so, did you stick with the 20 minute cycles?

Moved from terrarium to terrarium. Cakes dont like swings in humidity.
I'd dunk those cakes submerged in water for 24 hours to fully rehydrate. You cant have too high humidiity. Fruiting performs best in high humidiity. If you can get 100% then thats perfect.
For cakes you want atleast 95%.
If your using a shotgun fruiting chamber. |you can get away with fanning a few times daily though its recomended 4-5 times. Dont forget to mist well before fanning out your terrarium.
