Meaness, I'd like to see an example of someone being sarcastic to someone else and not being a little upset by it. Of course it's different with friends but it still offends. My opinion.

Good clean meanness.
If you think someone is an idiot how else can you let them know with out actually beating the shit out of them.

I think irony came before sarcasm, and is more 'positively' understandable.

according to my psychiatrist, sarcasm is hidden anger.
To help with my sarcasm I had to to write down 150 things I hated on a piece of paper... in return you find out that you don't hate that many things. I don't exactly understand how this works?
Honestly, I find myself rather amusing when sarcastic, I don't think I agree with this hidden anger bullshit.

sometimes when someone says something completely ignorant i feel the need to be sarcastic in a harsh kind of way. call that mean, hidden anger or whatever - but to me it's fun. maybe that is where i lack compassion. if people are offended by my sarcasm they need to stop taking the internet so seriously.

Depends upon if it is delivered with a scowl or a smile....
Excessive sarcastic "meanness" can be kind of humorous too, but in a pitiful way....
