My Cat Did What?
    #930509 - 10/04/02 12:06 AM (21 years, 6 months ago)

My cat has finally tasted success! He informed me today that out of his three jars he innoculated and placed in his incubation chamber saturday, one of them has started colonizing. It's right below an innoculation spot. Thanks to everyone who helped..oh, the other two have shown small spots of mycelium bot nothing that is as big as the first one to start colonizing.

he said it feels very...rewarding. i guess he came here to the shroomery all the time for a few weeks and learned the basics..he just never expected to have any trouble with the incubation chamber's heat..but now he has that and the humidity under control with the temps stying from 80-86 degrees and about 65% rh.

my cat just asked me a good question that I don't have the answer to...he's wondering if it is normal for the mycelium to appear to be growing on the jar..is it? He said it looked like mycelium growth, but it was on the side of the jar. Will it eventually spread to the substrate? what can he do to fix this? will it be a problem?

your cat is sure smart  anyway nature has caused the mycellum to form on the upper parts of the jars but it seems to have trouble getting the substrate stuck to the glass of the jars
