no there is a difference between origonal vampire fans who (read anne rice, laurell hamilton) and had an appreciation for the idea of it b4 it was hijacked and the new mainstream highschool bullshit was fed to the public.

vampires were always romantic erotic tragedies and love stories, now they are downplayed highschool puppy love novels and movies for kids.
