HEY I have a qiuck question:
I have a fully colonized quart wbs cake in a fruiting chamber with shotgun holes and polyfill stuffing on the sides and top.(monotub) the cake is looking healty and it resembles a big ball of cotton with little bulges poking out every\where. but no pins yet. its been in the chamber for a week or little more a with damp pearlite about 2 inches thick at bottom and i mist 2 or 3 time a day... should i continue to be patient? or is my cake not responding correctly... thanks for any help guys and gals....

Hey,
A few of quick questions for method 1
1. Is it okay to use 440ml jars? Only type I can access
2. I have B+ spores in a syringe, is it ok to use just some of the spores as a trial run and save the rest for later?
3. Can the fruiting chamber have frosted glass/plastic?
Cheers, thanks for all your help

If it really does look like cotton then it might be Cobweb Mold.
Do a search for the term and see if it looks similar to your cake.

no its not cobweb mold, i am fruiting directly from a colonized wbs cake that i have removed from the quart jar and placed in inside a monotub. no casing, or roll.. only a cake full of the colonized myc. the myc is what i meant by cottony looking.. its deffinately colonized mycelium. i guess i need to post a pic but my cam is f... ing up on me... i think i have a healthy cake because it looks better and different every time i mist,, just no pins yet... i think i should apply a little more patience into the mix bc the grow appears healthy so far... so thanks if anyone can make sense of that.. my only question would be; what is the time span that you usually see pins, after you place the cake inside fruiting conditions???
thanks again EJ

Make sure it's in fruiting conditions.
72F-76F and a drop in humidity to 85-90%. Fresh Air Exchanges - 4 or 5 per day (fan chamber). 12/12 light cycle, or leave it by a window in your home.
Maybe the dunk and roll will help you too. Try a 24 hour dunk in water, then roll your cake in vermiculite and adhere to the parameters above.
Sounds to me like you have to kick it into fruiting mode. Perhaps a more experienced cultivator will chime-in. I don't cultivate actives and I might be missing something.
Best of Luck.

Is dunk and rolling with verm really necessary for fruiting B+ cubensis? I watched another video where this technique was not used and the cakes produced well.

Heya, this is my first post here and I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong section for my diahhlemuh. but... I am trying to grow for the first time and if I do say so myself I have done everything by the book. Verm. and Brown rice flour, and I have no mycelium growth after about four weeks. No contamination is visible but there aint no stringy white stuff either, it just looks like the rice flour is getting a little bloated at the bottom. I have seen similar testimony from other "sporestore.com" buyers and am wondering if this is not a suggested spore source. I would love to get some "serious spores" and would appreciate any recommendations. I would love to buy/trade direct form a successful grower who collects spores but I dont know if this is against excepted conduct for this site.
