I just made some pretty dry cakes(barely under field cap)and shot each of them with 10cc almost pure myc, and also noced up a casserole dish with the rest of the BRF/verm mix. I threw in a few pinches of fresh coffee grounds and some gypsum and I used home made BRF from whole grain brown rice. I might look at them later and see if they could handle 10 more cc.
Where does the filter patch go in the pot when you pasteurize? My zoo poo sub it soaked, got free shipping don't wana pay to return, can I cut the top off of the myco bag and mix in some coir to bring it to field capacity before pasteurizing it in my slow cooker?
I found out my slow cooker stays at 150F if you leave it on all night. How long youd you have to leave it in there, the longer the better? Or would I have to turn it up to high till it got to 160-170, tape the lid shut and turn it to warm. Could I use that Prof P? I could fit all 10 pounds in there.

Nobody is answering my questions here either? Getting tired of my annoying ass? Is ProfP still at the bachelor party? Geeze everyone here must be too stoned to type anything except UTFSE and KISSFR. I am going to start a Q & A thread where we will answer questions weather they are stupid and have been asked before or not, who wants to read through 64 pages of a thread you have already read to look for one tidbit of info that could be answered in three words, not me! I need members willing to answer any question and if you are rude to any noob or discourage experimentation by telling someone to stick to the teks you are out. You can refer to the teks and suggest possible additives and tell them which teks work and whats best but never say just stick to the tek. If someone wants to use some way over saturated "supposedly pasteurized" substrate straight from the bag then we will let em, you could say it probably won't work but if you don't let them try they will be back on their 3rd attempt with the same questions and all kinds of problems, let them try what they want and if they don't follow the tek and get good results then we get a new FC, or a new sub additive or mixture.
I just have one question, who's goin with me man.

90 min is good at 15#'s, i would try to go 2 hrs maybe (sorry miss read it),when u pasteurize you dont want to go over 160F. if u keep it @ 160F for an hr(maybe a lil longer) u will be fine. when u go over 160F it kills off good organisms(maybe not the right word, but iam trying to help) that help out. and for the FP on ur cooker, idk never used one, and yes u can add coir, i do it all the time.

Nevermind I got my answer, RR said in a 4 year old post that as long as you get it to 140-160 and keep it there for a hour that it would be fine.
I will just put the bag in on warm and check the temp in 30min or an hour and when it gets to 140 in the middle of the bag and start the timer. That should do, I am going to pour 3 quarts of boiling water on my coir in a bucket in mean time, add some gypsum, and verm or water it to field capacity.
Next I will try poo/straw

Don't ask for help and not read peoples replies, what is that supposed to mean. As you can see in my original post I said my cooker went to 150F. You said keep it at 160F for an hour or longer, didn't answer my question, and never said that between 140-160 was okay? Why is everyone acting like they have a problem with answering noob questions. If you don't know don't answer, and if you do know try to be polite.

I just picked up the gypsum, the growth stalled suddenly, and since I got the jars from a vendor I suspected they were getting dry, so I drilled a very small whole in the center of the lids on the stalled jars without disturbing the verm layer and injected sterilized 50/50 distilled water, coffee. The jars had stalled half way down and now they are almost completely colonized. Time to start building my fruiting chamber. I plan on laying the colonized substrates on hydrated perlite with the verm layer on top (right side up) and misting the verm layer a bit with the 50/50 solution I injected earlier. Let me know if anyone sees a problem in doing this. I was very careful this time and have no contams anywhere. The first thing I'm going to do is pick the fastest/strongest shroom and clone it in an LC jar to use as a master for inoculating wbs jars. I'm going to use the wbs jars on a 50/50 coir/worm casting substrate, or perhaps a 80/20 ratio. I plan on sterilizing the substrate mixture and place it in 12 quart foil lined bins to prevent side pinning. (I've been doing A LOT OF READING ON THIS SITE). I'm also adding gypsum and sea weed extract to the substrate for nutes. Maybe some used coffee grounds too. Thoughts? Thanks for the reply, this is an amazingly addictive hobby

I don't know about the water mix,but u want to put them on jar lids or foil. I wouldn't put it straight on the perlte.
good luck. and let me know how the mix does if u will

I only opened the first picture and it doesn't look 100% colonized yet, it is close but not 100%. It looks fine leave it be and just keep doing what you are doing. If you don't see pins in a week give it a heavy misting and put it in front of a fan for a day. CH

Yessir. Use a regular meat thermometer to gauge the manure from the center of the materials, holding the temperature for an hour and a half when the thermometer reads between 140-160F.
