Ditch the incubation chamber. Room temp is perfect for all aspects of mycology.
You can add a few drops of iodine to the water to make sure it won't get any bacteria.

Why do you need incubation chamber do you live in Alaska? If your room temp is 65-70F they would be fine on a shelf in a closet.

Probably something that got through the tyvek or sterile procedures during noc, use SFDs and flame the needle until it glows red at least every three jars. It probably wasn't the silicone.

newbie - substrate and spores growing like crazy [Re: ShadOWCrack]

Hello, I'm a total newb, but after a couple failures I got some B+ from sporeworks, totally amazing, you can see globs of spores in each syringe. I then got some substrate jars from another vendor, they have brown rice, bee pollen, worm casings, and med. verm. in 1/2 pint kerr jars non-tapered sides. Anyway, I shook a single syringe and put about 1/2cc in each jar, after 1 week now, I can see the strands of myc. growing like crazy. My question is this: I've really studied the PF TEK, but these bee pollen/work casing jars are going nuts, is this a commonly used substrate? Will it work as well with different strains? Thanks to all who reply.

Bee pollen and worm castings have extra nutes the myc like to eat. If you want to speed up your PF TEK jars add a bit of pelletized gypsum, and use diluted coffee 50% water 50% coffee added to your water that you hydrate the verm with. In other words use half water and half watered down coffee for your BRF cakes and add a pinch or two of gypsum to the whole mix. That will speed them up and save you some money.

It depends on what temp you keep your house at. When I started in February, I kept my house at 62 during the day and 50 at night. Even doing that, my gas bill was >$150.
While those temps are great for fruiting some nice dense shroomage, it was less than optimal for colonization, so I had to put a small space heater in my closet.

n asked b4 and answered b4. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/9285870

You want me to read a 64 page thread of junk I already know, if I ask a question I have searched for it before I ask it most of the time. "I don't know.", or "No won't work", would suffice, simple as that. If you don't want to read it then don't. If you read it and don't want to answer it again or don't know the answer, then don't answer, but also don't put me down and make me look like I don't UTSE, like I am some or something. Just keep it to the mycology and the advancement of new technology.
If you are a trusted cultivator I know it gets tiring answering the same questions but to have that tag you should have to answer it politely anyway. Thanks for the links later when dude asked the same question though that was nice.
That would be cool if they monitored the TCs answers and if the were rude or said UTSS or KISS or UTSE then they lose points because they didn't give good advice. A cultivator can't be trusted if they leave you hanging when you are busy doing 100 things you just want a straight answer in one or two sentences, I should see if anyone wanted to join my journal and make a thread called no public display of affection.

Back in the days of etree, we used to have rules to keep the bickering down. I don't remember the first 4, but rule #5 was "before you hit send, take a couple puffs, and reread what you wrote, and then if you still want to, go ahead.

LOL at my ideas

My monos are doing quite well, first signs of growth on my grain quarts today. Here are the tubs tonight(four more days should be ready, looks like it will take longer.) Can I fruit a brf cake that is in a rubbermaid container by making a self healing port on the lid and nocing it through the lid with a ton of GLC? Guess we will find out because I ran out of jars.

Yeah but I am noob and you just blow me off because I have good ideas. If everyone was open to change and experimented I guarantee that something using perlite could make a more effective FC. If nobody helps around here you should have a general mycology forum where all the old people that didn't like answering questions so they could go there and not have to read our stupid questions and answer them. Also a questions about mycology and cultivation forum. Quit hatin on my ideas, make some new teks
