thanks in advance

I have an AA 930 & I put around 5 cups in it for a 120 min PC & still have plenty left over. Just make sure not to let your jars sit in the water.

I filled my PC just to cover the bottom rack as the water was just touching the jars, and ran it for 90 min @15psi,I had enough water left at the bottom of PC, so I'm good to go !

I have the same PC, there is a fill line on the inside about an inch or so off the bottom, use your spacer plate and you have enough water for 2 90min runs easy.:super:

I only got one plate with my PC, yes I seen the lines your talking about on the inside of the PC fill to the 1st line right ? but today I did allot of  reading ppl have stated don't let your jars sit in water, is this true ? also I don't have a spacer that would bring my jars to that level.
also one more question if ya have the time to answer ? I've made 4 1\8" holes in each my quart\litre jars, I get that hole putting tyvek over the lids rather under, here's my question am I still able to see the holes after PCing them ? for inoculation. I'm gonna follow RR tek and use 2 tyvek pieces, what are your thoughts ?
thank you in advance !
I had another thought what about 1piece of tyvek then PC, then I inoculate through the holes could I use a piece of micropore tape would that work? I know some of these questions were prolly asked but, I just want to do it right the 1st time, like that saying, measure twice cut once !

tyvek over 3 holes and a blob of silicone over the 4th for your injection port. :super:

(my personal preference is synthetic filter disc or whatman filters for GE instead of tyvek or polyfill.  here's why.)

If did the silicone way I would have to wait at least a 24hr period ? but I timed it for my grain to be done today, they've been soaking for 24hrs, waiting would that contam or harm them in any way if I waited another 24hr, I'm game to trying the silicone way what ever helps.

24 hours is the upper limit for suggested soak times.

Longer soak times can allow the bacteria to cycle back around.

Good luck,

JD

This is mainly correct.

Endospores begin to germinate just 2 hours into the soak, multiplying every two hours off into however long said cultivator allows the soak period to continue for.  After 24 hours of a soaking period, it's very easy to have more endospore germination at the end of the soak then germinated from the seed/grain at the beginning of the soak.

Bearing in mind said logic fore-mentioned is why I rinse my grain, again, after the initial rinse and soak period.  Coupling any grain preparation with a 10 minute flash boil allows for grains to become properly hydrated with in as little a soak time as 4 hours.  That's one of the various reasons why it's prescribed by experienced cultivators that you couple grain preparation with a 10 minute flash boil.

nope, no waiting, it will heat cure the silicone during the PC run.  I did all my lids that way.

it was to hot to pull any jars out but i think I lost 2 for sure cuz it looked like the foil was gonna explode, that's how stretched out it was, the others looked fine will update later once everything cools, so what ya said was it may be the tyvek that affected my jars in the PC, as I don't have access to synthetic disks guessing i will try the silicone tomorrow !

How much light should jars be getting after inoculation?

ambient room lighting is fine just keep them out of direct sunlight and lighting wont be an issue till fruiting.  my jars set in the same room as my fruiting mushrooms do so they get 12/12 if they like it or not. lol

it puts them on the circadian rhythm and I dont ever have to mess with changing my timers ever.
