or you can use a paper towel or cover your printing cap with a glass, just use a glovebox and you will be fine. here is a good link to printing.

You can find them cheap at cynmar.com
Else, if your working with syringes, just use the end of your sterilized needle to scrape the spores...

hi there, i am getting a room ready to do all my mushroom work in.
it is a room that does not get used by anyone and the door stays closed, i just have a bed and a sofa in there, should i cover the bed and sofa with plastic after i have vacuumed?
also how many 10ml syringes can i make from one print?
will 10ml be enough for 10 half pint jars?i tried to search teks maybe im looking in the wrong place?

Im by no means the most sterile person...as long as you dont think its that big of a issue, i wouldnt worry about it....

Depends on the size of the prints...
Quarter sized print could easily make 8-10 syringes..

Been awhile since iv did BRF jars...
If i remember correctly, it was 1/4 cc/ml per hole...4 holes per jar...which would equal 1 cc/ml

thanks for that, i know i might be a bit neurotic about contamination i just really want to be successful.
i am going to be making the syringes soon, i am just waiting for my alcohol to arrive.
do i scrape the spores off the foil with a sterile tool like a scalpel or rounded butter knife into a clean half pint jar, then use distilled water from prepared syringes to inject into jar and then mix around and draw back up syringe, needle guard put back on then wrap in for ready for inoculation?

i have a question about WBS,. ive been a long time lurker of the forums ,. reading teks and what not,. i soaked my WBS for 24-26 hours and didnt not simmer it in a pan,. i shouldnt have to should i? if i soaked it that long,.. and also,.. i let it drain really well,.  i can see that the grain has swollen from the water,. but my question is i guess,... after i PC the WBS @15 psi for 60 min,. i take the jars out and shake them some to break it up,.. but it just seems really dry? this normal for WBS?

One of the main reasons people like to boil their grains, is because of the drying action the steam creates.
Your grains should appear dry on the outside, not sticking to one another, and shakeable.....but be fully hydrated in the center.
your grains sound fine...
Back to sleep...zzz

Hi I'm making my first set of PF-Tek cakes and now they are colonized.

Can I go straight to the dunk-> fruiting them..or must I wait for them to start pinning inside the jars first?

I'm worried that they've been colonized too long and would rather just dunk them and get on with it just in case they've been in the jars to long and are about to spoil.

Like I say, inexperienced so if it is safe, I'd just like to go for the dunk. Can someone help me? Mushroom growing is already great fun(i'm growing oyster and its thje 3rd week)

You paint a picture and each small feature contains to your mind another painting just as large trying to expand free. Each its own full painting of unique inspiration&style. You look closer and it is made up of just as unique and wide span of sub-features bursting with potential to become paintings themselves.
The brain has this potential but also has constant surpression so that you can concentrate. But with such scope of creation how can any rigid morality produce a fair and unchained future. Religion will dissipate with time, rejoice in entropy

You should wait about 5 days AFTER the day you thought they were fully done...
Because you inject down the sides of the jars, you should allow these days for complete center colonization...
If you thought they were done 2 days ago, then wait 3 more...if you thought they were done 4 days ago, wait 1 more...
And no, you do not want to wait until it starts pinning in the jar...
