This is the order that i learned to grow PF cake Rye casing spawning
So I would suggest just taking your p corn and casing it and getting fruits then learn to spawn grain to manure or coir.

First time grower here with some questions. I posted some earlier but I'll repost:
PF tek, now my cakes are in the FC (shotgun). One of them I thought had contam while still in the jar, but it seemed to disappear so I birthed the cake with the rest. It had been out in the light and I got some shrooms quickly from it, the others are coming along slowly but seem to be doing well. On the possible contam cake, I started noticing bluish stuff on the cake, and the biggest shroom had a split/tear in the cap, with some blackish coloring around the tear. one of the other shrooms also had some black on the cap. I decided to isolate the cake, noticed more blue/black on the shrooms, so I picked them and cut open the cake to see...didn't seem to be much contam, just slight blue color on the cake. Threw it away, maybe I shouldn't have. Any thoughts on if it's actually contam would be great. Also, can I eat these shrooms? there was some blue on the inside/cross-section of the stems immediately when I cut them, so I don't think it was bruising. And I don't think the blue on the cake was bruising because it developed slowly after being untouched for awhile in the FC. But really I have no idea.
Anyone out there have any ideas? Did I just waste a good cake? Also, when I harvest the first flush, do I need to get the whole stem off the cake before re-dunking for another flush? And one last question, one of my cakes right now has one big shroom, can I pick it and just let the cake keep going for a while, or should I only harvest the shrooms on a cake all at once?
Thanks for any thoughts/help you can offer!

The "black" looks like dropped spores and the blue looks like bruising, all of witch is normal. Your shrooms look good, the cake is hard to tell(I can't get it the picture to enlarge) but I would guess bruising or your shrooms wouldn't look as healthy. Give the cake a good dunk and it will/should turn white again in a few days. You can pick the large shroom off and do a mid flush dunk by placing the cake on a dish with a little water on the dish the cake will absorb the water and you can continue the flush. CH

phew, glad to hear you guys think it's looking good.
I don't think the black is spores, though, because it happened on the tallest mushrooms and there weren't any others to drop the spores, but maybe. Or I guess it could just be some natural dark coloring on them and I'm just paranoid.
So the tear in the big cap isn't a sign of contam or anything bad?
Can a mushroom be blue on the inside of the stem right after cutting/picking it? I guess they sure do bruise easily.

Yes, shrooms bruise easy and also spores will be on top of even the tallest shroom. The tear on the cap looks like a mutation, it is still fine. It can also be caused by fast growth and changes in RH. CH

Any additives should be added when making your cakes, dunking should just be done in water(spring/tap). CH

whatever you do DONT disturb the dry verm layer and your good.
Ive quickly turned a jar over b4 and had the bottom finish up in a day or two but its very crucial NOT to disturb the verm layer.

pcorn has less surface area so the myc covers it quickly. pcorn is great for making Grain LCs.

Hi, first time posting so i'm probably in completely the wrong place. I was hoping u might know what would cause stunted fruiting, Golden Teachers being grown on rice flower cakes using dunk and role. Many pins but caps open when only 2 or 3 cm tall the stalks don't seem to expand. Perlite in shotgun like terrarium.

they were in the plastic bags u get with beginners kits with a perlite base, now moved in to rectangular plastic container, although II haven't drilled holes I fan regularly. I was thinking it was humidity as I have an electric humidity sensor that shows humidity around 90%, although someone said they are not so accurate at high humidity.
