I actually have perlite soak with water at the bottom of the tank, when they still didn't grow i thought maybe it was because the humidity was to low so I began misting them after every air out. As for the other thing, no i did not do the dunk and roll after birthing them, didn't think i had to since the first time around i didn't and they were fine. Is it to late to still do that or am i basically screwed? -babaganoush2307

go ahead and dunk them for 12-24 hours, put them back in the fruiting chamber, then mist, then fan 3-5 times a day and you will get pins soon :P

okay awesome, just so I am clear on this and don't mess this up after getting this far- I have read about the dunk and roll, 12-24 hours in water then roll in vermiculite correct? Does the water have to be sanitized/distilled or can it just be plain water from my tap?

When the tek at the front of this thread says 2 parts vermiculite, 1 part BRF and 1 part water, does this mean these are actually 50% verm, 25% BRF and 25% water in whatever size container?
I know this sounds stupid, but the help would be appreciated.
here is a visual referance for ya.

The whole part thing is just generalized measurements. What that is saying is 2 cups vermiculite 1 cup BRF and 1 cup water. Or if your going for greater amounts of substrate it would be (for example) 4 cups vermiculite 2 cups BRF and 2 cups water, just keep them in equal parts. -babaganoush2307

you do it in just normal tap water, and since your cakes have been in fruiting conditions if you roll them in vermiculite now its a good chance you'll get contaminations..so i would just do the dunk this time..but from now on when you birth your cakes dunk for 24 hours, then roll in verm..

Hello ,
I am new to this so I hope I am writing in the right place !
My name is Trixstar and I live in Durban South Africa. I had a cracker of a weekend because it was an old friends Bulls part and we did some mushrooms for shits and giggles and I still have a bag and a half left.
I was wondering can you grow MM from dry MM ? If so what is the best way to start. Any help links or anything would be great.

You'll be fighting contaminants the whole way. Your best bet is to either pick some fresh specimens, trade with somebody here, purchase from a vendor, or try to germinate those spores from your bag on agar plates and then isolate clean mycelium.
A hint before you post questions. Chances are that they've been asked and answered already. The search box in the top right-hand corner is your best tool.
Good luck!

It can be done you need to rehydrate the tissue and place it on agar, let it grow and sector away from any contaminations and reapeat.
Your better off getting a spore syringe

I need some help. Last month recieved 4 spore prints in the mail 2GT 1 Mazatapec and 1Texas. I looked at RR,s mushroom vids and have read a few guides on growing but I am still lost. I need a starting point with my prints currently I have jars and some BRF available but no perlite or vermiculite. I was thinking of making a syringe and inoculating some jars once I got all my supplies but I am worried about getting a contamination by fucking up the process. So I am lost on what to do right now. Me and 4 friends are planning to trip this summer so I wanted to load up on mushrooms and I need to know what I should do to produce enough for all of us but I need a noob friendly method since I have no experience in this subject except for reading the guides. Sorry if this sounds really dumb im just confused.
Help would be appreciated

first make a cheap still air box (glovebox) for a place to do your sterile work in like this.

then (clean your self very well) take your print and do this. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Sporeprinting-Syringes
then get your PF-tek supplies together and ready then "monkey see monkey do" this. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek
leave them be till they are 100% fully colonized then wait 5-7 more days then do this.
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
thats what most begginers do.
OR
for lots of mushies (bulk grow) you can do this.
first make a cheap still air box (glovebox) for a place to do your sterile work in like this.

then (clean your self very well) take your print and do this. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Sporeprinting-Syringes
then you need to get rye berries or wild bird seed or winter wheat or wheat berries and prep them like this.
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Grain-Preparation
inoculate just like the PFtek in a glove box using 1-2cc each quart of grain.
then build you a monotub like this.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8231041#8231041
then pasteurize your bulk sub of choice (manure, coco coir, straw) like this.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11540675#11540675 <-- 4 coir
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Straw-Pasteurization <-- 4 straw
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Horse-Manure-Substrate <-- 4 manure
once your bulk sub is pasteurized and cooled mix your grain spawn very well with your substrate and cover and let colonize like this.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11533613#11533613
let it get 100% fully colonized and put it into fruiting conditions and you should have mushies to harvest a few days after you put it into fruiting conditions.
anything else that I may have missed should be covered in one of the links I posted above. patience will be rewarded.

You have to read a lot! Use the info that 13Shrooms posted. Just use the search box on the top-right. It's your best tool here. I'm sure all of your questions have been answered at least twice.
Good Luck

Do you guys think making spawn bags would be better if I want a bigger yield. Also is their a way to inoculate a substrate without the use of a syringe because I don't have one yet and its whats holding me back from going through with this. I have the 4 prints I mentioned before but no syringe at this time.

do u have agar?
if u have the prints u could use it to make LIQUID CULTURE and when thats done in a week or two ud have a needle buy then... also u could go to any place that sells diabetic stuff over the counter they sell needles like a cvs or shit like that they all have diabetic stuff. ask a diabetic and he ll tell u where to go in ur area! then u got needles and good to go.
and make the little chamber thing like i got put everything inside it spray it all with alchohal and a small spray bottle of alchohal and needles and jars and lighter wash down with alchohal put in container then wait ten mins then go to work/
