Birth them and dunk them now!  You can tweak the fc later but I am sure if it is a Shot gun FC then the added perlite and no more cool mist the humidity will be fine.

You are fine, fridge or no fridge it doesn't matter.  If you have a good amount of pins then dunk for 12 hours skip the roll and just sprinkle verm on the top and mist it heavy.  After your first flush dunk for 24 hours and roll.  The "hard little booger" was probably hyphea(a pin forming) if you picked it,  it won't hurt anything.

You should start your own post more people would see it.
The choice is yours on the mature fruit you can leave it and get spores all over or cut it near the base with scissors and remove the rest when they are ready.

Wow, I can't believe this place is as bigg as it is with all these rules...yet "showing everyone respect" isn't a requirement...

So basically, if you are new, what he is saying is don't ask questions or else you'll be flamed

Don't ask for spores or you will be banned

Don't talk to people or you will be flamed

If you aren't a pro, don't talk....most of the assholes don't care what you have to say but if you talk, they will flame you

Holding any ideology other than the ignorance embraced here will be subject to suspension after flaming...

Having an opinion other than that of the common douche is unacceptable....

Helping others is frowned upon...

Though the search function only comes up with 5,000 pages of crap unrelated to your search, it is your responsibility to read on your own even if the info isn't available, all others will be flamed for any intelligent questions they might have...

Sorry, not to be a dick but it is true....and funny in a sad way. To think of all the people who could be helped if there was a no flaming policy in the cultivation forums....yet no one does anything to better the environment here. This site has so much potential...

So i harvested 100 g wet from 2 cakes yesterday, but do not have a fan for drying.  They have been sitting on a bookshelf under a ceiling fan on high for about 12 hours, and are feeling and appearing quite dry. How long should I keep this up?  I could not find any desiccant in my area, but a fellow at home depot recommended ice melter, which contains calcium chloride, salt, and a magnesium something or other.  How much of this should i use?  I plan on using a medium sized Tupperware for drying. Thanks.
P.S.-how long should cakes dunk after the first flush, I'm currently at 15 hours. And should they be rolled again?

Salt or rice works then seal them in a pint/quart jar or they will absorb humdity from the air.
12-24 hour dunk is fine, no need to roll again.

Iboston it sounds like they are not getting any gas exchange if they are in a fridge make sure the door is open.  The other factors are not that important,  temps between 69-80f are fine,  humidity is not an issue,  light also not an issue.
Give them some air and you should be fine.

Well buddy it happens.
Don't adjust the mixture dryer is better,  wetter you get cakes that take 60+ days to colonize or don't colonize 100% ever.
Clean those fc's good or it will come back bake that perlite or get new.
If you have any questions let us know,  don't get too discouraged you have gotten fruits witch is better than some here.

Well that dirt smell is trich,  if the cakes themselves smell like that toss em.  If they are grey give them a good spaying with H2O2(3% full strength US) if its cob web it will sizzle and then repeat in 12 hours.

Here is a link that will answer most of your questions so you can start doing grain/bulk.  I you have question post on that thread and one of my friends or myself will gladly answer,  and it will get seen by more people there.

For the dunking as soon as the first flush is harvested dunk it and you don't roll it again.
Large fruit will use allot of energy from the cakes and the other fruits stall or abort so don't pick them unless you are sure they aborted.
The dirt smell could just be your perlite,  but cobweb and trich have a dirt like smell.

Sounds like you have a good grasp of things now Z. :headbanger:
If you still smell the "dirt" give it another H2O2 spray and if you hear any sizzle :foshizzle: give it another spray 12 hours later.
Always dunk after each flush complete harvest other wise I think you are ready to start posting on the cultivation board.

I ask one more question here, i believe i am experiencing overlay on some cakes, this bumpy, yet fluffy looking myc is colonizing my casing layer and verm pile on the top of said cakes. It's soft and fluffy; removed some with a tweezers to see if it bruised or turned into a fast spreading trich that i have recently experienced in the same chamber. Smells like mushrooms...things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...
    Thank you,
Z

Could be normal but it sounds like the RH is low and the myc is looking for moister.

Trich is tricky...lol:facepalm:
No but seriously you can pick up trich spores anywhere it is hard to tell where they come from(unless you never leave your house).  The cat box I don't think would be a problem as long as your FC isn't sitting on the floor,  but like I said trich can come from anywhere.

Yeap, you said it.  Although it is a good learning experience,  it is better to get it now on a couple cakes than have a bunch of mono tubs lost to it.

Agreed,  you are doing great!  Some people ask for help the don't listen,  but you listen and learn and that is the most important part in this hobby.
Also don't feel like I am pressuring you in to making your own thread,  if you don't feel comfortable doing that then post on the AMU thread in my sig.

Your pic isn't very clear but from what you said I am guessing that the white is trich..  Hang on to it and see what happens,  the worst thing that could happen is you learn something.  I wouldn't be too optimistic with that cake though.

Re: Early Primordia? [Re: Product Z]

It looks too wet too me but I can't enlarge the pic.  It doesn't look bad and I don't see primordia just nice aerial myc,  give it another week and put it into fruiting conditions if the center is complete.
If you are giving them Fae stop and wait until it is 100% and what to do next is just give it more time.
Isolate any that have a sour smell it is probably bacteria an wont spread but could be other things you dont want so keep them separate.

Zero FAE during colonization is good,  you shouldn't even open it to take pictures.
I still don't see primordia just ariel myc,  but the uncolonized spots could be a problem it is too soon to tell.  Just leave it be for a while don't even look at it for a few days.
