My pet coconut is growing B+ which he spawned and cased with 50/50. This is his second batch, the first was very successful. that batch was grown in a rubbermaid container inside another bigger container used as a terrarium and humidity kept up with perlite. This batch my coconut has growing now is inside a cardboard box lined with a trash bag, using the same terrarium setup, it looks good but there are large clumps of mycelium which look sort of like cauliflower in some places, there are numerous pins, all of which look healthy. Should he be worried about these mycelium clumps? should he remove them? not really sure what to do, but again there are pins and small mushies forming already. he started colonization using whole brown rice and the quart jar tek, He suspects that because of the unusually long time he let that jar colonize (about a month, lots of rhizomorphic growth along the sides, and no signs of contams) it might have led to the cauliflower growth and really rapid colonization ( about 1 week for the mycelium to break the surface) Again, any help provided would make my pet coconut very happy. Just not sure what he should do???
thanks, keep up the great site!!!!

those cauliflower like growths are most likely just rhizomorphic mycellium... its a good thing. dont worry about it. certainly dont try and remove them, although after the first flush you might want to patch-case over them.

so what should he do? lower humidity? more fanning maybe? my pet coconut has described these growths as being spongy, almost mushroom-like in themselves. Just not sure what he should do.
