Now this book was cool "The Celestine Prophecy-by James Redfield. I understand the energy spoken about in this book and have seen it all my life just thaught it was a glare on mah eyeball Any truth behind this exceptional novel. The series as I hear is totally cool and very new age. Has anyone else read this? What do u think?

excellent book. like carlos castaneda's series, it's fiction with a reality twist. it holds a lot of basic truths and teaches great lessons, while at the same time telling a very engrossing story. i think there are 2 others after this one, and both are also good...

I thought it was weak. While the ideas Redfield was trying to get across were nifty and worthwhile (if a little flakey for my tastes), the narrative itself wasn't very good. It seemed contrived, forced at times, and not especially engrossing.

In my opinion: Good ideas, poorly written.

I'm reading the first book, 'Celestine Prophecy' now. 'Celestine Vision' is a non-fiction book by the same author that talks about all of this in a ... you guessed it ... NON fiction setting. My girlfriend has read all of these books and recommended them to me after actually getting a prescription from her therapist prescribing these books. They have totally given her a new outlook to her life and spirituality.

When she was explaining the books to me I was really skeptical as she was relating real-life events and experiences compared to a non-fiction book. But now I see what she was talking about. I can't recommend reading the non-fiction book before the fictional books or vica-versa as I have talked to various people who have done either/or and both groups are divided as to which should be read first.
