Newspaper?

I realize that p. cubensis is not capable of digesting lignen, which is present in small amounts in paper, however is this amount large enough to prevent p. cubensis from colonizing newspaper pulp used as a bulk substrate? Any other points on the validity of newspaper as a bulk substrate?

Why not go to your local Recycling Center and get Cardboard? I would not want to grow on all the ink in newspaper. Unless it's that soy ink that some places are switching to. Also cardboard colonized amazingly, I don't see newspaper out performing it in that sense.
