Neither unless they could prove that they were intended for use in producing psilocybin.
Spores are actually potentially more legal in California than in any other state, because in any other state possession of spores with the intent to produce psilocybin is a felony charge (attempt to manufacture a controlled substance) while in California it is only a misdemeanor. Of course in California you could be charged either way, but I have never heard of prosecution for spores in CA.
California is one of the few states where psilocybin mushroom growers are sentenced to probation unless it is a massive operation.

Interesting that a drugs dog was able to sniff out mushrooms. People on here always say they aren't trained to.

Why do you all feel that you can talk bad about someone you do not know. This was a friend of mine... yes... he's a hippie and a good hearted one at that! Yeah... he has a past record, but he has never hurt someone that didn't have it coming for some fucked up shit they did to him or someone in the family. You do not know him... do not bash him for his mistakes. We are all human here right?!?
Most of you have no freaking clue what it is like to live the life he lived... as a HIPPIE. He lived off touring and working while on tour. He didn't have mommy and daddy to pay his bills and put him through school. This was his life. It may not be the life for you, but it was his life and he did good for everyone that did good for him! If you fucked him over... yeah... you deserved whatever came to you, because that is how karma works!
If you do not know him, you have no right to judge by a biased new paper article. Clearly you all do not realize that THIS IS A PERSON TOO! Just like you and me. Maybe he just wasn't dealt the best hand of cards in life man! HE IS A GOOD PERSON AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED IN THE FAMILY!

I am glad their are people on tour (what fuckin tour BTW? cause every band "touring" sucks, and don't tell me that sound tribe tour is all that great) but I have learned through many situations like the ones your referring to (revenge because of "fucked up people doing fucked up things" in the drug game) that it is best to just not retaliate and in the future try to deal with less shady people. He didn't need to go assault anybody for any reason. Especially if he is trying to sell pounds of mushrooms on tour. My old saying is
if you're gonna break the law, then don't break the law.
meaning, if you're gonna sell drugs, don't do anything else that will get you in trouble.
