Birdseed Tec PLEASE!

Ok I have yet to find a COMPLETE birdseed tek. I need to know the recipie for quart jars, Type of seed and where to get it,Type of lids, How to pc, How to incubate, Basically the works. Please somebody provide me with a tek.Ive only done pf-tek but have a good pc and a good glovebox and im starting to invest some real money into it. My goal is to master each of the following and then move to the next( millet, then rye, then agar.) Thanks

That tek didnt work worth of crap for me when I grew. Here is the one that I used. I read it somewhere of theforrestfloor.

I used finch seed from walmart. Pretty cheap. Fill pint jars 2/3 full with seed for each jar. Cover seed about a inch or two with water in the jar and let it soak for 24 hours. Next day, strain all the nasty water out. Put one hole in the middle of your lid, I had the metal ones, fill that hole with polyfill and cover the lid with foil. Pc for 1 hour. Let the pc cool by itself. Once all that is done, in a sterile enviroment, take your lid off your pc and innaculate jars with spores. Then just stick in incubator (mine was at 82 degrees) and wait. I usually saw growth in 3 to 5 days. Once it was about 20% colognized, shook it up real good, let that go to about 60% and shook one more time, then let it finish colognizing. I use to use about 1-2 cc's of spores soluition for each pint jar. My jars would take usually 1-2 weeks to be completly done if everything was right. Good luck.

I just simmer high millet birdseed for 30-45 minutes, rinse, and then strain. Let the grain dry for 15 minutes or so, then pack your jars and PC. Perfect water content every time.

thats what kept a friend from doing it,the water content,just couldnt get it right he might give it a go now....and you dont need to add any extra water,or do you?

I was battling till I did what mickey said.
Perfect jars now.
It also washes off any bird kote or simlar crap that can gum things up.

Correct. The grain will be at proper moisture content after straining.

Deth Heads birdseed tech doesn't really make that too clear of a point...

i just simmer till they start to pop. then load them. i dont know what other people think, but when using b-seed pints work better than quarts for me. just tossing in my 2 cents.
