Could NORMAL do a TV commercial? 1

Everytime I see those new, anti-marijuana, this is the dime bag stacy bought, adds on TV it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Bunch of propaganda bullshit! In one of those commercials it's talking about the family of the girl who was killed by a stray bullet from the suppliers gun who sold to the dealer, ...ect...the dimebag that stacy bought...or some shit like that.
I wish NORMAL would counter these adds and point out how that those terrible things wouldn't happen if it wasn't for prohibition. I doubt they have the funding or would even be allowed to do it in the first place.
Last I heard, from a USA TODAY/CNN Gallup poll, support for legalizing marijuana is at it's highest level in at least 30 years.

I heard some radio ads earlier this year.

I do wish NORML or somebody else would respond to those ads. I get so furious when I see those totally bullshit ads. Fuck!! Damn drug nazis.

I wonder if it's because NORML doesn't have the money for national network spots or if the broadcasting companies themselves are refusing to air those commercials due to goverment pressure.

Good to know. There must be reasons why they can't do TV, because they would have done it by now.
Fredrick, I'm with you on the Gov't not protecting people from themselves thing, but it's going to be hard to get the majority of Americans to go along with that. I feel NORMAL should focuss more on how the money in sales tax could benefit the country because usually talk of $$$ stirs up interest.
Keith Shrub, founder of NORMAL, says the government's opposition to letting doctors prescribing marijuanna for pain relief and nausea has helped legalization efforts. Makes sense because people see the gov't being unsympathetic to dying patients.

Its because money is better spent on other things... TV advertisemtns do NOTHIGN to sway people on their decisions in life and its those life decisions that make people for or against marijuana...
Norml spends its money that they get on paying overpriced lawyers and buttering up politicians. I dont agree with it but thats how politics is played, without the game the marijuana movement would be decades behind where it is now...

I agree you have to play politics to really get things accomlished, but people are buying into the anti-weed ads. I don't think a lot of people would be so quick to accept the message as absolute truth if they heard NORML's side.

I don't know man, but the thing that's pissing me off is the dam billboards in my area that say
"You think it's dry now, wait till October!"
God dam mother fucking bull shit ass wipe pigs! They bust a 400 pound deal and now they think they are the shit. If the world was going to end in a month, the first thing I would do would be murder some cops.

I wish someone would post a picture of the billboard if it does indeed exist. There's a huge debate in Other Drugs about the billboards being an urban legend. A picture would help settle that debate.

Title: Drug Wars Kill
Tight close-ups – rapid cuts:
Senator: I helped kill your kid
Judge: I'm violating your Constitutional rights
Cop: I'm destroying your life
Montage of drug war violence:
Armed federal agents bashing in doors, raiding houses, kicking ass, beating faces, cracking heads, ramming cars, gunning down fleeing people
Voiceover: Think the Drug War is a good idea? Think again. When drugs are outlawed, their cost is driven into billions of dollars that find their way into the pockets of vicious dealers who would otherwise have to work honest jobs – and into the pockets of vicious government drug warriors who otherwise might have remained decent. Your support of the War on Drugs makes it possible to legally shoot your fellow citizens for doing nothing more than what a bartender does every day. Your support makes it possible to seize innocent people’s cars, boats, airplanes and homes.
Tight close-ups – rapid cuts:
Senator: I support tough drug laws to get reelected
Judge: I release murderers and rapists so I can jail pot smokers
Cop: I take payoffs to look the other way
Repeat montage of drug war violence
Voiceover: Think the Drug War is a good idea? Think again. Anti-drug war tax money supports government terror

If the commercials are true, so is this: If I sidle down a dark alley to score a baggie of pot from a shady-looking dude named Guido who then gives my money to his old lady who buys a quart of milk for their kid, we ought to be seeing Super Bowl ads next year that say Smoke a Joint, Feed a Baby. Even better, the more you smoke, snort, huff, swallow and shoot dope the more you help to feed starving third world children!

Nah, I think they should just air segments from surveillance tapes of Senators whilst conducting "official" business in hotel rooms with female consitutents and Peruvian marching powder.

Someone should say "I helped take a child away from their family over a few plants, and put them in foster care where they were molested by an old drunk.".
The cop should also say "I was just dong my job.".

What about the spots where terminally ill patients get to explain how the DEA raided their medicinal grow operation and now they can't even choke down food.

First of all here's the pic you wanted to see. (I swiped it from another board) By the way it's October and nothing happened, why believe anything they say? If it was gonna be dry, they sure should have come got my grow then heh heh Next, it is a known psychology principle, that people will begin to believe information if they are exposed to it enough, regardless of if they dislike the source or not. In other words, people forget who said it before they forget the information/propaganda/bullshit whatever. Thats why TV brainwashes people. Also, that's why a lot of people who haven't tried pot/shrooms/whatever are against it just because it was "as seen on TV" . So I disagree that NORML TV ads would be ineffective. I think they would be TREMENDOUSLY effective. It would use the same psychological principle and people would end up having to think about it. That's also why I don't think they can run the ads. The government don't wan't them fucking up their brainfucking efforts. Funnier still, is the fact that pot/shrooms/lsd actually unfucks your mind and lets it think freely. So the BEST thing would be to get more folks to TRY these drugs. overgrow the bastards type thinking. My three cents. Peace..
