Call me a VERY electronic music orientation, I think heavy rock sucks for my mind space when tripping,a nd the beatles make me ill, as does many other "popular" music types.

tool  i was on lsd at the concert: lateralus tour. the song :the grudge- was fucking crazy it sounded like i was inside a tornado of music with the sound of the drums swirling around the whole arena!! people were walking by leaveing five of themselfs behind to catch up!

It was an insult disguised as an opinion.
An opinion would be more along the lines of "I don't really like the Beatles because...". An opinion is better stated as it relates to oneself (i.e. "I don't like...") not the nature of an object (i.e. "Everything sucks.").
That said, I like the Beatles and techno, what now?
Oh yeah, a techno version of "Here Comes the Sun", already been done...

I think the contention is that it is not a well reasoned opinion and as stated is identical to an insult.
I am not literally saying the following, just an example of how you are playing words:
"I think you are a piece of shit. Don't take it personally, it is just my opinion."
See? That seems damn similar to an insult.
Just claiming things suck is pretty childish, as much as just claiming things are awesome. Why not give reasons? What about the music of the Beatles do you find lacking or what about the music do you find distasteful?
What about Astrix's music appeals to you?
The kind of resulting statements could lead to more meaningful conversation than "My music is better than yours, nya nya nya."
Or, if you want to stay on topic, what about whatever type of music makes it good to listen to while tripping?
