I've been taking photographs of Panellus serotinus for a few weeks.  I came out of it with a few relatively decent ones I wanted to share.  They are pretty variable in the cap color, everything from purple to green to brown.

Is there one that stands out as a favorite for you?  I can't decide but I lean towards the 16-21 series.

Hey Senor Hongos,

I like 18 the best. Good combination of color, composition and sharpness.

I've been seeing these around a lot lately. Seems like they are a lot more abundant this year than those previous. Or maybe I'm just becoming more of a mycophile lately.

Do you know how these compare to Pleurotus spp. in taste/texture?

Thanks guys.  If I were forced to choose I would probably pick 17.  I really like some of the others though, the slimy cap and the purple ones were trippy to see.

Nice pictures Senor, i personaly like number 20.  Its by far the most abundant mushroom i find this time of year.  Have you or anyone eaten these?  They say you need to cook for a long time, i have stayed away they seem to leathery.

Thanks Roy and cactu.

I don't normally eat anything I pick or photograph.  I'm much more into the taxonomy than anything else.  Thanks to some prodding from some folks on here I actually ate two new species this year.
