DMT - Novelty of the experience + frequency of use
    #9253056 - 11/16/08 12:59 AM (15 years, 5 months ago)

I don't often open threads but here is the topic of the day - several topics actually -

For those who smoke DMT, how often do you use it? Do you smoke multiple times in a session? What is your pattern of use?

I'm interested in how frequency and pattern of use are affected by the sheer novelty of the experience. In other words, my dog has found breakthrough doses to be so earth-shaking that he can't work up the nerve to enter hyperspace again on the same day. It usually takes him a week or more to take the plunge again.

I understand that the brain seems to cope with the shock of the experience quite well - there seems to be an insulating effect built in the to chemical interface between brain and DMT.

Also, for veteran DMT smokers, has the novelty of the experience subsided or become less intense with repeated use? I'm talking about full breakthroughs here. DMT seems so ultimately post-psychedelic at breakthrough levels that it rocks the psyche completely and utterly, yet it recovers poise within minutes.

Basically, I'm interested in seeing further dialogue around these topics

You gotta stop this "my dog" thing.  Nobody gives a shit if you smoke DMT.

See, watch.

The habit is annoying, but ultimately unimportant. If he does not want to implicate himself in any way, then let him be that way. Other than that, I'm also kind of curious about DMT but don't know if I'd go for it yet.

I tried some ayahuasca but that's my only DMT experience.  I'd like to try it but I doubt my lungs can handle smoking it.  Sounds beautiful and amazing.

DMT is a hell of a lot of fun
In lower doses its a rocking euphoric high
In higher doses it's like DAMN

They only thing I have to say really is designate a pipe your dmt pipe because it smells and tastes kinda like smoking a crayon.

For Breakthroughs I dont do that very often, I but I enjoy low doses a little more often

Done DMT once smoked.  I wouldn't say that the experience was fun.  I would say it is the most profound, enlightening, terrifying, bizarre experience that one can under go.

It will show you more to reality than meets the eye and mind, show you that literally anything is possible.

I like to smoke like every 45 minutes when i take the plunge.
I also like to stick with around 20-30mg doses and I usually smoke up like 4 or 5 times, just cause its cool.
I feel as if I could do it every day, and yet it has yet to lose any intensity or magic like mushroom s did for me.

Listen to the dumbass 2 posts above me tho, it can ruin a good pipe if you use the same one for weed smoking

even on 200mg I never had a breakthru... I have a theory that some people cannot enter that state

Good qquote

"The feeling of doing DMT is as though one had been struck by noetic lightning. The ordinary world is almost instantaneously replaced, not only with a hallucination, but a hallucination whose alien character is its utter alienness. Nothing in this world can prepare one for the impressions that fill your mind when you enter the DMT sensorium."

I have found large doses hard to handle all at once, I think I might have to run this through the volcano.
Normally Ill put some on the pipe rip it and if I cna reload some more as fast as possible, then rip it again.

Hell, just keep smoking.  What do they get the energy build up and no break through like 5-meo-dmt?

When I first got into DMT I smoke way too much way too often because of all the excitement that was built up and tripping every day multiple times isn't ideal, for me at least.

Now I limit myself to once a week minimum and only one trip per night with at least 30 minutes of meditation before smoking.

If you savor the experience and let all of it soak in you shouldn't feel the need to trip for a while.

I'd love to try some but I can't get ahold of any and I don't really have access to the materials at the moment, sadface.

I don't really know where I fall into the spectrum, but I haven't done a lot of DMT in my life, but I have done a good bit over the past month.  It was clear to me from the start that I have a very high tolerance to DMT, I attribute this to tripping 400-500 times.. but even when I started with LSD I handled it better than other people.

I do feel that even on high doses exceeding 100 mgs, I do not reach the full breakthrough place people speak of, the DMT "hyperspace" I experience could never be confused with a real place, the CEVs I see are always very abstract and I have to force them into objects (as opposed to shapes), and many times I can't even do that.  The open eye visuals I do get are generally extremely mild.

Thats so strange, because you will know when your break through.  There is a very defined feeling of leaving this world imo.
