Yes! I have not owned any in some time. I was thinking of grafting them to some pedro? I also hear you can graft the bottoms but had not tried yet.. Whats a good soil for these ya know? The roots are clinging to what looks like small clay rock?

you dont graft the root. you could graft something to the root but doesnt make much sense. you can plant the root and it will likely produce some pups (more buttons) those are already pretty big id just plant them and let them grow. if you want to graft get soem seeds and graft seedlings to pedro or perks or whatever. that was incase your roots dont rebutton you dont waste all that good rootstock

if you have a big enough grafting stock (i.e. san pedro blue mertel ect....) just graft it like you would and normal graft but I would cut off the woodie root as it wont help at all. but from that pic it doesnt have any aereoles (sp?) so either rooting or grafting it will take awhile to show any growth but my best net would be to graft it.
thats just what I would do

So,what are the growth speeds between grafted and ungrafted?
Also, can someone link me to a straight forward grafting procedure please? Ive have grafted in the past just forgot some...
And Fee" You say i should flip the root upside down and graft it? I have pedro and torch. You really think it will pup? Or would planting it be a better idea?
Thanks bros

that piece in your second post just looks like root, without some flesh and an aerole or two there is no chance of it growing on it's own or as a graft.
everyone has there different preference on soil for lophophora... from commercial cactus compost to grit/sand mixtures... you have to experiment and see what works for you and your climate... personally i just use a commercial mix with some added grit and sand to increase drainage.

For your viewing pleasure
Seems wasteful not to atleast try to graft it.

look at it in terms of growth, not seasons... if the cacti (both stock and scion) are actively growing and well hydrated then it is fine to graft.
