Amphetamine Heart Damage SCARED

I have been abusing adderall for two years using around 100mg four times a month.
Lately while on adderall, I have felt my heart racing, skipping beats, and a weird fluttering feeling on the left side of my chest. This happens even on a dose of 30mg now.
Does anyone have anything to say about stimulants and the heart? Do you think I've done damage to my heart? Should I go to a doctor?

No, you sound fine.
Of course you should see a doctor... Maybe they are affecting your brain as well?

Haha I do not doubt that. I just can't imagine my heart is in that bad of shape compared to like a methamphetamine user... Do you know of anyone on these boards who is notorious for using speed who I may PM??

No, but I bet a doctor will want to put you through some kind of test and see for sure... Check erowid and shit, but the heart is kinda important. I'd get it checked by an actual doctor as soon as you can.
Even if it's not the adderall, heart palpitations are nothing to ignore.

I've been prescribed ADD medicine since I was in 6th grade, from dexedrine to concerta to adderall. I've been taking it for 8 years now, and I've settled on dextro-amphetamine 5mg tablets. I take between 5mg-15mg a day, depending on how much work I have to do. (If I don't have any work/studying then I'll take 0mg, the side effects of speed (like paranoia and delusional logic) kinda suck.) I've felt palpitations before, but it's usually after I've gone a few days without taking it followed by taking 10-15mg.
Palpitations is probably a sign that you are taking too much. Try 15mg of adderall next time.
BTW, adderall is a mix of D-amphetamine HCl, D-amphetamine freebase, L-amphetamine HCl, and L-amphetamine freebase.
Also, when is the last time you ran for more than 1 mile? Palpitations may be a sign of a weakening cardiovascular system and may be a reason to get up off your ass and exercise once in a while.

I run and exercise a lot. I went running last night. I'm 22 y/o and weigh 185. Played sports all through high school and eat a healthy diet. And no history of heart disease in my family.
Have you heard much fuss about speed and heart damage? I'm looking for someone to relate or say something that will make me feel better.

Unless you have a bad heart prior to using amphetamine, your mental health will be damaged before your heart is. Once you start getting a little crazy its time to quit.

I've heard that before. So just from recreational use, a user will experience declining mental health before physical health? Like even with 7 days in between doses?
I always thought people meant that while on a binge, a user would most likely experience mental issues (psychosis) before physical, BUT JUST IN GENERAL TOO?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT

I would not freak out to much. I've had minor heart issues while on large doses of adderall as well. I went to the doctor about it and he did a EKG and everything and i was fine.

It's probably anxiety. I used to and still do convince myself my heart is fucked up but I've had it checked out numerous times and have just decided that I need to stop worrying about it. I have a history of panic, anxiety and hypochondria, if that makes a difference.

You could have a pre-existing heart condition that is being exasperated by the adderall. Regardless, you need to see a doctor and get it checked. Death is fairly permanent.

seus is right, just because other users can do it and be fine doesn't mean it's not a serious health problem for you. I'd recommend you get off the stuff and see a doctor about it immediately. Additionally I would recommend if you ever disregard that last bit of advice you do not ever do it alone, as an un-witnessed heart complication is a sure fatality. However you must absolutely see a doctor about it, this could be the first signs of a serious heart problem and early diagnosis would be a mater of life and death.
