any tips on harvesting sclerotia?

i opened my bag of sclerotia. mexicana a grown on 800g rice. i spent hours picking the stones out. there were hardly any big ones most were the size of grape nuts. i have only gotten through about 1/5 or 1/4 the bag. i have 60g fresh so far. i tried washing them which helped a bit since the starch wash washed off and it was less sticky. i was wondering if there is an easy way. i am considering just drying the rest as is and just eat about 20 dry grams at a time, it is just rice after all and could be ok with some curry sauce to mask the taste.

While rye grass seed is the traditional substrate to encourage sclerotia growth in this species, I know some people on this board have had success with millet--a grain which is relatively easy to separate out. Rice is probably the stickiest grain you could have used unfortunately. If you wait six weeks or longer before opening them up next time you should also get much bigger sclerotia.
Try sticking them in the fridge for a little while. This might make the rice less sticky.

yeah i read una's post when he grew it on millet. he said he just used a sieve to separate them. i have 2 bags of millet ready to innoc i just have to clone some of this harvest. they had been growing over 4 months and didnt show much life anymore plus i wanted to innoc my new bags with that bag.
i am drying a bit of the mixture at the moment to see if it will separate easier. the rest is in the freezer. i'll post when i see what it is like to separate when fully dry.

i dried some out completely but it was still just as hard to harvest. the stones are firmly stuck to the rice. the white rice is now dark brown too. i think i will dry it all out and put it through a grinder and just have to eat a pile of dust. it tastes ok with a little salt! i may also dump some ground up in some 95% alcohol
